Wow! I just love seeing everyone's great pictures! Thanks so much for sharing!
Here is the list of items for today....
6. Hand-dyed fabric (dyed by you or someone else)
7. A nine-patch block
8. The view from where you are
9. A spool of metallic thread
10. Your trusty iron
(Remember, you can post any of the items from the list on any day. We're not picky!)
And shhhh...Mary -- I was thoroughly amused by your original furry friend picture! But don't tell your husband! Hee hee!

Okay - combining here, you see my very cheap "light and easy" iron, some pastel hand-dyed fabric (I THINK it's Ricky's - certainly not mine!), some metallic thread, and what became a nine patch embellishment for my totebag after I made the individual blocks.
And here is one view - it's actually like this almost all around my house. LOVE IT!!!

Boy Bridget, you must have been posting the new list as I was disconnecting to take yesterday's pictures!
OK--the nine patch is from the first quilt my DH made(he has only made one), my iron is a travel iron(very light weight and very hot), the hand dyed is fabric Mickey Depre's husband dyed, and the thread is a hologram thread made by YLI that I got when I was at the AQS show in DesMoines:

Okay, so since this is just for fun I'm thinking it's okay to be a little silly and stretch the definitions of the 5 things somewhat.
6. I do not own any hand dyed fabric nor have I ever dyed any myself. However, my DH is painting our bathroom this week and he did a little fabric dyeing. (don't see spell check here, is that right?) He was wearing one of his favorite shirts (why? he's a MAN), one we bought in Hawaii about 15 years ago, and backed into an area he had already painted. The funny part is that he was trying to not let me find out so he immediately removed the shirt and started trying to get the paint out. He actually did a fairly good job but we never did get it all out. I need to tell you that the color is "mexicana" and it is basically a bright terra cotta. So, see, he did get most of it out.
7. one of the nine patches in my scrappy quilt that I keep thrown in the back of the van to use for any and every thing.
8. Sorry it's such a dreary day to be taking a picture of my view. It's an awesome view on a clear day.
9. Spool of metallic thread - well, not exactly. This is some metallic cording I had around left over from a craft project.
10. Trusty iron - not an expensive one but it works great (so far!)

Would you believe I've never bought any hand-dyed fabric? Well, there has to be something to look forward to, right?
Otherwise, here is my about-to-be-replaced iron (too heavy, hate the auto shut off), a spool of Sulky silver thread and my entry into my guild's 9-pate exchange for this year. (Not quite finished, but I have until January!)
And here are a couple of views from my house - but not taken today, as we had sleet, rain and clouds most of the day!
