OK--this ribbon is special because it was for this little quilt that was put in the "Fine Arts" division:

Cleanest--I just blitzed it when my arm was out of commission--my cutting area is never this clean:

Messiest--do you see that gunk on my pressing table? Soon it will have a new cover:

And What was I thinking--I was thinking those fish would look great on a pieced background--that was about 6 years ago:

And my favorite magazine is the one that comes with an AQS membership(no picture).

Okay, I will now make my FOURTH attempt at posting my 5 things for today. (Actually 4 because I don't have a ribbon.) I don't know what my problem is tonight. I have done this successfully before, so why not tonight?

                  11. no ribbon

                  12. I sew in my dining room so a lot of my sewing "stuff" is stuffed into two buffet drawers. Messiest area.

                  13. I store my magazines, books, etc. in the computer armoir in the basement. Cleanest area.

                  14. I actually had a box labeled "what was I thinking?" until a few months ago when I donated it to charity. So no picture of that. But here's the funny part. The fabrics posted by CaroleD and by Ritzy are CURRENTLY in my stash!!!!!!! And I have had them for YEARS and YEARS and haven't figured out what to do with them but I still like them so I keep them!

                  15. I 've never met a quilt magazine I didn't like. LOL! but I'm choosing Quiltmaker because I have used more of their patterns than any of the others so far.

Lorchen, your thimble is absolutely the cutest .
No ribbons for me, I never was is a contest. My cleanest space is the ironing board; no picture of that.
I have a lot of messy places, but I think this is the worst.
I read Quilt Life online, so no picture of that.
I have this wonderful grey silk and I still like it, but it seems to be impossible to put into something. Anyway, it's a keeper.

Thanks to everybody for the comments about my little 'thimble'.

My pincushion of choice is actually a stuffed cat sewing caddy. My favorite scissors are my fancy Ginghers. My favorite shoes are my Skecher's Shapeups - not that they shape me up, but because they provide great relief for a heel that has plantar fasciitis!

The cute kids are my own two (top left) who are now 45 and 43 years old, and my three grandchildren, now ages 19, 10, and 22. (I made all that clothing except for the bathing suit!)

The schoolhouse block was made by Joyce (Zsuxxa)Roberts, an online friend, and sent to me as a gift. I finished it with borders and quilting. I was a teacher in my before-retirement years.

                                16. Favorite shoes - also the cheapest I've ever owned, got them at Walmart over 10 years ago but they are so comfortable and I get compliments on them constantly. I'm going to be one sad lady when they fall apart - which probably isn't that far away!

                                17. This pincushion was my grandmothers.

                                18. I guess we all think our kids are the cutest in the world! This is Chelsea and Mattie from 1997.
