OK - so I KNOW I am not the only one not at Paducah right now - hmm....so instead I edited 18 videos and went to Yosemite. Now it is time to work on my pomegranet quilt - what are you working on?

    #2
I've never been to Paducah. Right now I'm working on some PDF Tutorials for my hopefully soon-to-be web site and getting ready for the local quilt show. I'd rather be working on a quilt though.

Alex -- I am just home working -- making draperies for a client and working part time for a Psyhologist. One of these days I will attend Padukah. Don't know if I could handle the crowds.

Couldn't go to Paducah again this year :-( I have to take my little Sarah up to Niagara Falls for a dance convention, so I am spending my time packing for the trip.

I have been busy pin-basting some old UFO tops preparing them to be machine quilted. Two of the tops were completed in 2005. Nothing like being behind in the quilting of them. And yes, I know spray basting would be faster, but not with asthma.

One of my close friends is an art teacher at a Christian school and entered some of her students in the Arts & Science Collaborations, Inc. (ASCI) annual art festival. To participate, each school was required to provide three judges and she asked me to serve as a judge.

I felt unqualified, but she said that I was since I am a quilt artist. I've always considered myself a quilter rather than a quilt artist, so I was very flattered and agreed to do it. I was assigned to judge 3rd and 4th grade artwork, pastels to sculpture and every media in between. It was very challenging, but fun.

One of my favorite pieces was a paper mosaic made to replicate a crazy quilt, including the stitches. It was awesome!

Someday maybe I'll go to Paducah. I started to school there when I was a little girl and we were there with TVA...a looong time ago. We left when I was only 8.

For now, I'm just beginning to think I am actually going to get over a miserable cold and planning to go back to work tomorrow. :?

Quilting wise, a few days ago I made a little mini-quilt designed by my 7 year old grandson. I made it for one of his birthday presents. Also, I have my brother-in-law's river/cross banner sandwiched, basted, and ready to quilt, but I decided I needed to practice some quilting before I started that, so I've done several practice pieces. I'm trying to do some free-form feathers using Sharon Schamber's techniques for domestic machine work around the border. I'm not happy with them, so I keep practicing, but at some point, I've got to start the actual quilting. The landscape centerpiece will all be a variety of free-form stippling and countouring. Now if only I had the Bernina 830 maybe my feathers would greatly improve!

After finishing a couple of quilts for 'the little one', I'm now in the middle of crocheting an amazingly soft baby blanket (80% bamboo, 20% polyester). And I have to get my skates on. This first grandchild of mine is due in mid-May.

Paducah is on my bucket list. My house is up for sale so sewing has been slow. I just finished a quilted bag and sent it out in the mail today then I started to work on the pieced 2010 quilt.

I've been playing with dyeing and a few UFOs.

There's hardly a chance of ever getting to Paducah for me though. At least I have a taster through TQS!!

(And what does KY mean? Over here it's a lubricant! ops: )

Amo, If you can get to the states in April I will get you to Paducah! And KY is the postal code for Kentucky, the state where Paducah is located! And "KY" is also a brand of lubricant here!
