Pattern for Brown Work Sock w/ Red Heel Monkeys

I found a bunch of new brown work socks with red heels to make the traditional monkey toy in my basement. These are left over from the monkeys I made my Grand Nieces and Newphews over 8 years ago... (cleaning the basement revels surprises. )

I can not find the pattern however... does any one know where I can find them? I do not want to buy more socks or buy a commercial pattern. I am hoping to find it free on the internet..

    Any Links

My mom always referred to those socks as "Rockford Socks". I played with sock monkeys when I was a kid.

Anna, you could try and turn them into some other kibnd of animal - one of your own design.

            Lorchen,

The monkey is a tradition that I do not want to break. I know there are books and patterns for other animals but after 6 generations of monkeys I wanted to make one for my grandson. I know somewhere in the depth of the basement the pattern books lurk.

I figured that the ladies here would help out... and once again they came through. I do not know why when I googled I came up with a blank... but the directions / links posted here will work just fine.

            Thanks once again.
