Please keep my mom, Margarita Wilcox in your prayers. She was in a car accident this afternoon. She is currently in surgery. She has a compound fracture in her right ankle, several broken bones in her left foot, some broken ribs and a hematoma in her chest. I will update this when I know more. Thank you so much.

Oh Frances, I am so very sorry to hear about your mom! Margarita is such a wonderful lady! I have always enjoyed speaking with her and listening to her passion for quilting. I pray for wisdom for the surgeons, a gentle touch from those who care for her, and lots of good meds so she will be pain free. Hugs to you and your Dad!

I just got an e-mail from my sister, the nurse, and my brother who called me. . My sister talked to my dad. Mom was hit by a propane truck which spun her around, pushed her off the road, trhough a ditch and nose first into a tree. The pine tree was 50' tall and it snapped about 10' from the top. The hematoma is from the seatbelt. The surgery tonight is to clean up and fix the right ankle. If she needs surgery on the left foot, it will be in a day or two. Mom was able to try to call dad, then someone called him for her. When my dad got to the accident, she was alert enough to tell him to get the groceries out of the trunk.

Oh my goodness, Frances. Big hugs to your whole family. Your Mom is such a dear lady! I still fondly think of the time she and your dad drove more than an hour from Auburn to Davis to visit with me while I was in California visiting my mom. That was a special treat. It sounds as though she was lucky not to have been hurt worse than she was. Please know I'll be saying many prayers for her speedy recovery and return to quilting. Prayers and hugs for the whole family! Robin
