Glad to hear your good news, Limbania. God Is Good.

Our ex son in law, Frank, had his first chemo yesterday. According to DGD everything went well and he had no immediate side effects but we keep our fingers crossed and say our prayers that it continues that way. This is a hard time for our family because we want to support DGD and be positive but we also are realistic and know that the prognosis is not as good as DGD would like to believe. So pray for Frank, Isabelle, our DD- Alice and us as we wander through this new territory. But we know God is Good, All the Time. All the Time, God is Good. Hugs, Ann

Praying for Frank, DGD and all the family, Ann. It's a hard journey but hopefully the treatment will work and he'll recover his health. Most definitely God is good, all the time. Bear hugs,

A few weeks ago I posted a prayer request regarding my career. I do so very much appreciate your prayers and I have made the decision to take the job offer. It will be full-time and this will be the first time in over 23 years that I have worked full-time. I think I will be starting the first Monday of August once all the details are ironed out. So now you can pray that my family and I will adapt well to our new lifestyle.

Kalynn, you and your family will do just fine. We are all flexible and adaptable. I had to go from a little part-time work (4 hours a week) when my children were little to full-time work in less than 3 weeks when my ex-dh left me. I have been full-time ever since. The three most important things I found about fulltime work: Making sure I got the basics outside of work organised, like who and when the washing up was done (it's often the little things that can cause stress), and then I had to make sure that I got enough sleep. And finally, adjust your priorities. So the hedge around the house didn't get trimmed for a couple of weeks or the car washed, but I managed to find the time to go to the cinema with my sons. Finally, try not to neglect contact with family and friends because you are going to be very busy. Just go with the flow and enjoy life!

Thanks, Lorchen. That all sounds like good advice. It was actually the family time reduction that I was concerned about. We are new empty nesters so now both my children and my parents live in other cities, too far away for a day trip.

Kalynn, you should consider setting up something like 'Skype'. My daughter-in-law uses it more or less daily to stay in touch with her sisters. It's brilliant, because you can chat in real time and see eachother at the same time. Kerry has specific time slots where they use 'Skype'.

                  Yep, Skype is great.

Yeah, I do skype with my oldest daughter. Youngest daughter and parents are very anti-technology! LOL But thanks for the suggestion.

Hi, everyone! I have been "AWOL" for the last several weeks, and just caught up with everyone's news and needs. God bless all of you wonderful ladies (and gents!) for being the wonderful supportive people that you are. I am so glad that Limbania came thru her surgery with flying colors, and that Anne's husband is on the mend. Terrie, I hope your sister will do well with her latest health challenge...she has certainly had more than her share of health issues to deal with. Kalynn, I am glad that your daughter is settling in to her new surroundings, and seems to be finding her focus. Wishing you the best with your new job...keep us posted on how it goes! Ann, your DGD sounds like an awesome young lady. That caring/healing spirit is something you are born with, and she should definitely consider a career in healthcare
                        when she's older.

My absence has been the result of family health problems. My DH had a ruptured disc over a month ago, culminating in urgent surgery on July 4th. He is on the mend, but slowly. I would so much appreciate your prayers and healing thoughts. I will probably still be scarce around the Forum for a while, but know that I am thinking about you all, and it brightens my day so when I can check in with this crazy bunch of folks!

                        Hugs and love,
