Yesterday was a roller coaster day for Drea and the whole family, but we believe we've finally gotten to the correct diagnosis. During the day, DD got a call that the Lyme disease blood test was positive, but was told they should have Drea at St. Mary's by late afternoon as there were other things that could still be the problem. (Evidently the blood test isn't 100% accurate.) They got to the hospital to find out from the pediatric neurologist who had been called to consult on the case that he was thinking possible meningitis, and they wanted to keep her overnight (and quarantine the whole family!) so they could do a spinal tap today. When DD mentioned that a red rash had showed up during the day (which our DDIL had noticed on her first day of providing daycare for Drea), everyone heaved a sigh of relief and said that was confirmation that it indeed is Lyme. She's now on mega doses of amoxicilin for the next 3 weeks, which we hope will do the trick. The facial paralysis seems to be slightly better, so we have our fingers crossed. Of course we are concerned about possible long-term side effects such as arthritis, but so far she seems to be on the mend. Thanks to all who have included Drea and our family in your thoughts and prayers.Deborah W

Please pray for the people of Texas. There were several large wildfires around the central Texas area yesterday. It has been so dry and when Lee moved ashore into Louisiana yesterday, it sent strong winds throughout Texas. Hundreds of homes have been burned. Two people have died. Everything is so dry here that it is scary.

Many prayers going out for Texas. We have been watching the saga on the news! Praying for RAIN!
Also, please pray for Terry tomorrow! He goes in for the lithotripsy, where they will try to break up the kidney stones. He will be put under, they will insert a small drainage stent, and they will also remove a large stone that is resting in the bladder. That is a lot going on in some sensative areas. Please pray for a successful surgery, and recovery with no complications! Thank you so much!

Dawn, you and Terry are in my prayers and that he gets through this next phase with flying colors.
I'm also praying for our Texas SoTTT's. Clara mentioned in an email 2 days ago that the wildfires were getting too close for comfort and that they might have to evac the next day! Her mother also underwent surgery and was doing okay but it was going to be a long road to recovery. There are some very scary events and weather happening all around us. Thank goodness we have this forum to share with and pray for each other.
Take care and God bless...
Hugs,
Shirley

Praying for Terry today!
So pleased that they have located the issue for Drea, and will keep her in my prayers as she continues her healing journey.
There has been a terrible time this week with my Dad who underwent routine surgery and then didn't wake up for 12 hours. All awake now, and as long as there are no heart issues in the next 24 hours, he is all good.
Harry gets his test results today I think. He has been having a tough couple of weeks, but they have managed to keep him out of hospital. Hopefully the results give them a positive direction and he will be well again soon.
I am sooooo grateful for my worldwide friends on this site, and pray they all receive the help they need during their current challenges. The hope that is returned from this site, the support from our many friends is awesome. Hope you all are finding time to be creative and cherish your soul during your hard times.

Dawn, I hope all goes well for Terry today! I'll be keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers today.
Mary, I hope that little Drea is improving.
Cath, I'm praying for your father and Harry.
And I'm praying for those affected by the fires in Texas. The whole Southwest needs rain! It's too bad some of those suffering through hurricanes can't ship the water to Texas, New Mexico and Arizona!
