Wow Cheryl, Good Morning Savannah is beautiful and beautifully quilted! Very impressive. And your son's convergence quilt looks very "watery" just waiting for the fish. It was nice to see your grandma quilt again. You did such a good job. My boy Andy hasn't progressed at all cause I was going to retake the class that started a week or so ago. But decided I better concentrate on BOMs and a quilt that's been due awhile since I moved (2 yrs!). Then back to Andy. Anyway nice to see your studio. Looks like you have a nice sized room.

Thanks Patti, the room is about 10X13 and is quite large without all my "need to have" things in there. I eventually want to replace the dresser and table with cabinets. But need to wait for $$$. Heating season is coming upon us, so for now this works for me.

Grandma hasn't gotten any further along either. I need to do some more blending and finish the hair. She still stares at me, though isn't scary looking like she used to be in the planning stages.

Off to play tour guide. Yesterday I took friends visiting to the Nautilus Museum and DH gave them a tour of the sub base. Today it is Mystic Aquarium, Seaport and shops. Its nice doing tourist things on a week day when school is in session. No lines.

As for Kyles quilt, I am going to take photo's of it and use that to plan my next cuts. As pointed out on the Convergence thread, I might run into problems with bias cuts and fitting the strips together. So virtual quilting will be my Tilde for the day.

        Lady Rags,
I've been working on the Tilda Thread plan since you started this thread; but this is the first time that I've posted a comment. I've decided that maybe I will make more progress if I share with the TQS family.

        SO. . . .
Today, I worked on a BOM applique project that I started last October. It is Maggie Walker's Country Journal. I have completed the six surounding blocks and am working on the center block. . . .(I've been working on the center block since May. . . ran into some challenges and put it away for a while.) I have the background completed and am working on the breast of the rooster. . .still have his neck and head areas to applique.

I made great progress (figured out a solution to my challenge that actually worked) and if felt WONDERFUL!

Thank you Lady Rags for the push.

Terry it deffinately helps to share. THere are many times I write what I want to accomplish for the day and it feels like a commitment. Since I wrote it down now I have to do it. Not only that, it is nice to see what everyone is working on and the thought process of why and how they did it. We are also here to help when needed. Cheryl

I have to agree that laying it all out / making the commitment to the time and work required helps keep us on tract. I also think the THINKING TIME that goes into a quilt should be honored.

Sometime I spend a lot of time THINKING ABOUT WHAT I WANT TO DO AND WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE to accomplish my goal. That time helps avoid some of the ripping out cause something did now work.

I do not do as much actual sewing as I could and should in part as if I am too tired or it is a chore I DO NOT AND WILL NOT DO IT.

I am finding just sewing one needles worth of thread or 10 minutes on the sewing machine each day is really adding up. I have so many more project that are getting near completion.

I am learning from so many people here too so it is so nice to have a place to meet. KEEP ON POSTING YOUR PLANS AND DREAMS we all enjoy the snapshots into each other lives.

I forgot to mention I have been catching up on my Block of the MONTH blocks...

I finished two by machine ( Wheels and Memory ) and I am doing an applique BABY BLOCKs as we speak. (I took a little break to check in here and block the telemarketers phone calls so DH could sleep.)

I belong to two BOM in one we are making AMERICAN SAMPLER BLOCKS from the F&P Complete Quilters Guide book... this is a beginner class. I also joined GRANDMA'S FAVORITEs BOM which uses reprinted block selection from LADIES ART COMPANY. I frequently use my EQ6 to plan out my blocks. These classes are a lot of fun and enjoy the social atmosphere most of the time.

I am planning to combine both sets of BOM into one quilt... When I have about 16-20 completed blocks I will start planning out the setting and placement. I have read two settings books ..one traditional and one contemporary and have a general idea of what I want to do with them.

Oh Well back to sewing... See ya later.

I went to my weekly Wed. sewing group and worked on another DJ block. Did reverse applique and finished a block with hearts. Also got a bunch more little blocks ready to do more reverse applique when I go to CA next month. Judy in AZ

Before work today, I sewed six seams; but, I sewed the last one wrong so will get to rip that one tomorrow. I'm still five seams ahead of where I would have been!

I'm glad I took a closer look Sherry. It is so cute with the wood and woodworking tools.

Thanx Karen! I think Annette will be surprized. I told her I could put just about anything in her quilt, but folks unfamiliar with the variety of fabrics out there just don't have a clue. It'll be alot of fun giving it to her!

Well yesterday, I sewed the binding on my Cathedral Stars and my Butterfly Garden quilts. They are now hanging in our guild show. Opening night was tonight and the show opens to the public tomorrow. I will take pictures next week.

I am going to a quilting retreat today... 9am to 9 pm... just sewing on our own projects and I am really looking forward to it.

I had put aside several project to work on my sister's quilt. My SUNSHINE THROUGH STAIN GLASS project is one of them. I am not even sure where I stand with it but I have it in a box to finish it and that is going so I can work on it in piece and quiet.

I am also taking several other small almost completed UFOs ... ie binding strips that need sewing together. This promises to be a productive day.

I even plan to have my block of the month fabric in the car if I run out of work or get bored with the other projects.

I am thinking of doing a small kaleidoscope medallion for the center panel of my Christmas Block sampler. I would do it the way Ricky's DVD shows but I want it smaller.... about 24 inches total across. I will work on this at home.

Have a good sewing day to all... I think I will take a nap ... Having insomnia is a bummer.... waking at 4 am and not being able to go back to sleep can be very unproductive.

I finished two more blocks for my blue/white quilt that I am working on. I have to wait for my mom to send me the rest of the pattern. I've done 8, so 4 more to go. I also cut out the rest of my applique patterns today. That took a long time! Sandi in FL

I finished the binding on my son's flannel quilt for Christmas. It was the 5 yard quilt although I had to add to the length as my DS is 6'5". That was a lot of stitching. But it is finished. One UFO down and hundreds to go. Judy in AZ
