High loft batting

Margo - the quick answer is: I don't. If I know something is going to hang on the wall all the time in one direction, I don't use wool. I need to try two layers - the 80/20 that I love with wool on top. My favorite wool batt quilt that I love - it's square, and omni-directional; I hang it a couple weeks in my office on one side (with about 8 or 10 binder clips, and then turn it, and then a couple weeks later turn it, and then turn it. And then I take it home and let it relax and cuddle with it... And then start all over again.

I'm kind of partial to dowels on pushpins myself, but it does require a sleeve or loops

And I'm more of a thumbtack through the sleeve girl myself. :roll: But, again, that requires a sleeve and I really hate putting them on, especially if I have dense quilting!

Thanks for all the comments. The bed cover was an end of bolt I just loved. Quilted around leaves and looks great but not an inch left for shams so had to improvise. I'm pleased.

I need to know if you can use 1/2" loft 100% wool batting with the 820 Bernina Machine. I know hand quilters use it. Also if it is too thick has anyone ever been able to split the batting to 1/4"
My son wants a high loft warm quilt. :?:
