Hi Luann, yes I did get the email, but it's been rough since my Mom passed. Her death sent me reeling and that's when I decided I have to organize. I have more behind me than ahead so I want to enjoy it, not spend it surrounded by "what might have been".
I'll look at it tonight, I promise.
I'm so glad we can get going on this. We're a small group, but we can do this.

      Wendy,
I think you are more productive than I will ever be. I guess it’s when we read about someone else’s adventures that we put ours to the back of our minds. THAT'S what doing the Design Your Destiny helped me with. After the first week of reflecting on all that had taken place during that year, and we were only in November!, I started to realize the importance of 'acknowledging what 'I' accomplish'. Even things like rolling bandages for missions takes on new meaning when you start to spend some time thinking about it.
I think we all want more progression, as it leads to completion.
We’re going to have fun with this.

Wendy, before you go and get a Moleskine, check this one out: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_sc_1_5?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=leuchtturm1917+dotted&sprefix=leich%2Caps %2C159&crid=RU6VOO43B5

It's the exact same book as the Bullet Journal, but it doesn't cost as much.

I couldn’t find the specific one you left the link for so I checked out Staples, which was where I got my 'little' journals. 3 for $10

I think you could use any type of journal or composition book, with or without lines, which ever way you’d prefer.

I just saw one called Scribbles That Matter that is similar to the BJ. I'm going to use my Quilters Planner. I have one now for this year, and I've already pre-ordered the one for next year. I hope it works!

Well I'm going to jump in with both feet and start on 1st August. I've read so much and watched videos in the last 2 days I can make a basic start and learn from you all and adapt as I go along. I'm off to the stationers tomorrow with poor grandson in tow to decide if I want a soft or hardback journal and will probably get the emerald one Eileen suggested. I'm sure I'll treat him to something too.

I'll set it up as the video for the first couple of months then can change it as we share notes. I really want to use it for other stuff as well as quilting projects. I feel it would be great to make short notes in the daily section of the little things that happen when I'm with my grandson and perhaps keep a section for possible activities, games, outings. On other days I'm going to record something positive that happens each day or something that makes me smile as well as the stuff that's suggested..

I looked at instagram and am in awe of the designs and layouts people have done in theirs. If I do that I'll never do any sewing so it's going to be basic but I may doodle the odd fmq pattern occasionally. I must try and keep it fairly neat I'm such a messy person but I do make myself lists to cross off so perhaps it wont be too daunting to do a bullet journal.

Anyone else starting from a blank page yet or waiting until the beginning of the year?

I went to Staples today to bring in a printer that has refused to respond. It has been replaced and now I can print out some interesting things I’ve been finding. While there, I found a three section note pad. First 180 pages are lined, second 180 page section is graph paper, and third section (180pgs) is blank pages. It’s spiral bound and I did flip it in half to see if it would lay flat for writing without getting a cramp in my wrist, and it passed that little test. Greatest part, it cost under $10 I had looked for the little mini journals I mentioned before but I found that the ones available now were too small for any note taking or quilt planning.
                    Wendy,
I’m going to start using this on August 1. I have my other planner/journal to fall back on if I need to. But, I figured if I start now, and tweak things as I go, by November 1 I’ll know what I want to work with for 2019. Sometimes I just need to allow myself to get accustomed to something before I fully commit. I do believe that the tweaking never stops because life in itself keeps changing and we need to flex to work with what comes our way.
Hope you find one with a cover that inspires you. Or, you can always stitch up a cover for it.

Wendy, I just finished watching a video Q&A session with the girl whose blog I follow. If you watch from this point on, she explains a lot about how she fill in her bullet journal.

I'm starting mine as of August 1st. Since you've got a new book, that's what I'd do.
I'm trying to set up my monthly for August.

Well how's the first day gone. I think I'm a bit obsessed with it  I sent my son the link and he's really interested. Actually he was held up for 3 hours at Copenhagen airport and bought a journal and got started.
I've set it up as the video and added extra pages at the back so as not to upset the rhythm for things like lists of potential places to visit and to eat at which we always struggle with when the time comes. I've not put all my projects on the future log as some I don't care if they aren't worked on until next year but I've started a list so I can see what they are.
I'm just doing this one until the end of the year then I can start afresh. That may change.
It was fun to record bullets about the day with my grandson yesterday when he had his first bus ride, he was so excited but also terrified. I'll have a note to remind me when he's older and also I'll be able to tell him about throwing chocolate around the stationers when I was buying him a book. May share that story with his dad on sunday

So has anyone else got day 1 documented and how did you find it? It did actually focus me and I sketched out a couple of quilts I'm going to make and I've bored a couple of people at my quilt group with bullet journaling they went a bit glassy eyed
