    Happy New Year to all!

I made a few pillows slips for my 4 granddaughters for Christmas, and in my haste to pack or mail them, I did not get pictures. So in your mind please picture donuts, princesses, Paris, and winter bears. They were fun, and turned out cute!

I have spent some time on rows for the row exchange, and hope to get a few into the mail this week. Also, I finished off a couple of Outreach quilts for our community. (Dialysis, chemo, etc.)

I am happy to tell you that I have not one, but two quilts accepted into the Road to California show! Yippee! Hard to believe I drove within 10 mile of them while visiting SoCal during Christmas. The show is Jan 19 thought the 22, but I will not be attending. Are you?

My next project will be starting this year's Hoffman Challenge. I'm still not positive of the direction I plan to go. I just need quality time to jump in and see if what I think will work, actually does! hmy:

Yeh I've found a way to make posting replies quicker. I just click submit wait a second and press submit again. The message comes up with an error warning and my message is posted within 3 secs. How cool is that.

Please tell me if I'm irritating you and my messages turn up twice   At least I feel like posting now.

Didn't work for me. Still took forever, but luckily seems to have posted only once. Guess I'll still keep my postings to a minimum.

Giving it a shot. Why does it take so long anyway?

Nancy, I almost double clicked-only waited a second or two and it worked.

Congratulations, Dawn!! I look forward to seeing what you come up with for the Hoffman challenge, and the Rd to Ca quilts once you can share them What a shame you can't attend!

I'm busy finishing a quilt for a customer/friend, and one for my niece. Two more borders to put on the customer quilt, then quilt it (gulp), and 2 more sections to piece on the quilt for my niece, then I'll take her shopping to choose a backing, with explanation that the customer quilt has to be finished by a deadline. I think if I manage the top done by the weekend (on hers) she'll be thrilled. I'll come back with photos later; they're in my phone, I'm on the computer.....

I should easily get the borders done today and go buy batting probably, not sure I have enough here. I've found at my LQS, she carries a very wide batting (for use on her long arm, and will sell off the roll) so I can usually get enough in one cut that I have leftover for lap quilts, which is nice. She also carries wide backings, which is lovely.

Going to try the "submit twice" button and see if that helps the speed....wouldn't that be wonderful!

                              Happy sewing, everyone!

Update, I am from the Sacramento area- in the midst of 9 days of rain forecast- quite a lot for a drought stricken state! I only wish I had this time off work--perfect sewing weather! I am a Pediatric Rn in a busy children's Hospital within a teaching hospital. The only work that is sad when business is booming and we are sure booming! Cold and flu season is hitting California hard. An earlier season than usual.
Looking forward to show and tell here.
