A little about me before my CHALLENGE POST:
I was born on March 5, 1950. According to google it was a Sunday. Probably snowing in Antigo, Wisconsin. I was welcomed by my Mom (Kathryn Ann Hunter Theilman) and Dad (Louise Walter Theilman). That is how I got my ‘real world’ name of Luann. My sister (2 1/2years older) got 2 middle names so when I came along my parents blessed me by not giving me one at all. The state of Wisconsin did however, on my birth certificate divide my name into Lu Ann. It’s not on anything else like that so for me it was Annie, until I started working and then it was Luann. AnnieLu was given to me by a friend when I had a website that supplied answers to sewing questions for others. The catch phrase was,,, AnnieLu will find that for you. STAY TUNED To be continued next month
Now for my first CHALLENGE POST of 2019:
One of my grandsons is turning 16 on January 20th. Last fall when I visited with the family, I chatted with his mom about making him a more adult like quilt than I’d made him in the past. Actually looking at the pictures of those other quilts, I never made this child a ‘kiddy’ quilt, but I wanted to express my gratitude for having him as a grandchild, and I’ve decided that each child would get a ‘specially’ made for them quilt upon turning 16. Heather said, Oh my, I’ve been seeing these bookcase quilts. And this kid is always reading. So,,, here’s what I’ve done so far, 2 rows in process. And I have 3 piles of ‘book sets’ to make the other 3 rows. I do have a plan, but when you’re making up the pattern, things have to be adjusted sometimes. LOL Most of the time ! !
I watched Gudrun from GEDesign Studios do a Stella Quilt. I knew that I wanted to use a layer cake of Christmas fabric so within less than 1 hour I had everything cut for the blocks for my Stella. All blocks have the 4 units made, and they sew together quickly.
Coconut Macaroons for you to enjoy.
Some eye candy of another type:
To be continued next month,,,

I just have to share this AMAZING tidbit of information with you ladies.
My iPad Pro doesn’t support blogger, so my blogposts at http://letscreatetoday.blogspot.com/
haven’t been as frequent because it’s such a pain to import pictures, then try to edit the draft, etc etc etc
After writing my CHALLENGE POST just a few minutes ago, I decided to copy it and see if it would paste into blogger without distorted pictures, or lost words, etc etc. Oh, my gosh,,,, it went in easy as eating those macaroons ! ! ! So from now on, I know that I can copy my post from here each month, put it on my blog, and when I want to publish a book of my blog, all my goodies will be in it.
This might be a big “So, What?!” for you, but making technology work for me,,, well that’s one of those amazing moments in my life. I’m very easily amazed, I guess,,, lol

Lotti, I had to look the Stella quilt up, I'd never heard of it. That is going to be gorgeous in Christmas fabrics! If you were born in Wisconsin, how the heck did you end up in Switzerland, and your parents in Quebec? Will that be the next chapter?
The flower is very pretty, can you tell me what it is? I like macaroons just fine, but I like them better if they're chocolate covered! :woohoo: :woohoo:
Thanks for sharing a piece of your life with us!

Eileen,
I know that Lotti is the one that so often puts up the gorgeous flower pictures, but this time it was me, Luann. aka AnnieLu. And I ended up in SC when retirement time was imminent. The flower is an Hibiscus, we baby the two we have by putting them into the garage if it's going to get below 50. Not sure if we’re going to be able to keep them alive for the next 2 months, but it sure would be nice.
I forgot the next picture, it’s of 5 quilt tops, backings, and batting’s that were dropped off for Royal Family Kids Camp. I think I’ll be doing quite a few for this summer's campers. They said they'll need about 50 this year. Hopefully next year, people will make their tops, etc and get them to me starting in September. But,,, people get busy, and time slips away, so I’ll just do my best and pray that God has some helpers in the wings for me.
That should take care of my BDay posting, lol.

Not much quilting has been going on here this past while. Mostly hand work and some knitting. I'm sooo outta practice with the knitting..
Here is a pic of winter projects.
Here is a cute dish DH did and a custom hanger for a friends loon project. He'd like me in the shop more but I resist!

I got a couple of amaryllis bulbs this yr, one red and one bi-color and put them in the pot together. The red one had 4 blooms .
but the bi-color had 2 stalks and the first had 6 and the second had 5 blooms! Never had an ordinary one do such a grand outcome!
Not great photos but...you get the idea!

Wow Marilyn love all your projects and your husbands bowl, beautiful. Nice to see what you've been up to recently.
The amaryllis is lovely as well, look at all your sewing on the wall and I can see a little nose peeping out. What a treat :cheer: Happy Marilyn day. :cheer:
