Jen, yes a vertical row is just fine. Of course, I'm now trying to second guess what you might be creating! I don't have a picture of the construction of my rows, so will create the finished piece once all rows are in my sewing room and playing with each other.
Dorothy..... Are you there? I sent you a PM asking about the row I am making for you. I think you wanted bright and fun, and needed to know if you were a cat person. If not I will go on to another idea. I hope to start the design process next week at retreat.
Loving everyone's pictures.

Thanks, Dorothy! I scratched the cats (pun intended) and came up with a wonderful colorful-happy pieced block row. Lots and lots of HSTs. I'll probably cut them big and trim to size, making sure they all come out just right.
Rosemary, I forgot to tell you. I think I gained a pound just reading your hot chocolate recipe! Yum!

Your first row is for January 2016, and it would be best if it is mailed out by the end of January. Sooner would always be a welcomed surprise at the mailbox.
I am NOT going to keep track of who says they've mailed something out or when someone posts that they have received a row. Everyone needs to keep their own record of where they are and whom they've gotten rows from. I would jump overboard if I had to keep track of all that info.
I want to encourage each of you to take a photo of every row you make, and every row you receive! Sometimes a computer crashes and it would be nice to help a rower out if that would happen.
I think I'd better go look for a life preserver. I hope I can find one made with pouches for holding chocolate, just in case you guys mutiny on me! LOL
Love to you all,
I'm so excited for this to be under way!

I really enjoy organizing things.
In fact, today I was elected Second VicePresident, In Charge of Programs, for The Palmetto Fiber Art Guild. I've been a member since February of this year, but they felt a fresh set of eyes would be a good thing.
I also took apart my center batik star block for my Craftsy BOM quilt. I couldn't reuse the pieces as I found out the template printout was not accurate. I recut the pieces and sewed them following the directions in a very precise, one step at a time, and I now have a lovely FLAT star block for the center of my quilt.

I'm caught up with all that I felt I needed to get done, company coming next week, creative time will have to give way to cleaning, entertaining, etc. I hope to have a highly productive December, but it seems that my energy level has suffered from the time change. I need to eat more protein and leave the sweet treats alone. I know, good luck with that one!Geneva
