That sounds nice, Luann. I'm not sure since this year we plan to go to a place on a lake in Michigan instead of SC. With our new grandson it will be an easier drive for the kids who have kids. We always seem to return though and all love the beach trip to SC.Lyndhurst, Ohio USA - East Side Suburb of Cleveland, Ohio

Well, it looks like our grandson will be born on January 6th. The Doctor wants to try and turn him before labor begins. Please keep a good thought for all. Whew!
This grandson will be our 5th grandchild. I love being graneva or grammy. Our 2 granddaughters that live in New Jersey are 6 & 4. Then we have Parker, 2 who is the big brother to the newest grandchild. And of course Victorina who was born last October in So California. I don't like being so far away from the 3 granddaughters, but we try to get out to see them often. In fact, the So Cal group will be here next week when the baby is born. If you don't hear from me you'll know I'm swimming in babies, company and love!
Here's my fun grandchild story. Parker lives nearby and a few days before Christmas I was at his house when he went to the back window and said "Grandad took Parker snow!" It had snowed a few days before and my husband had visited Parker. Then the snow melted and Parker couldn't figure out why Granddad took his snow. I really gave my husband a hard time about that! This past weekend it snowed again and Granddad called Parker to tell him he had returned the snow! (It has since melted.)
This evening we will host an east coast new years party for our neighbors. This means we can toast the new year at 9pm our time. Yay! I wish you could all be here.
I hope the New Year is a happy one for all of you. I look forward to many more laughs, hugs, commiseration and of course quilting with you!
hugs, genevaGeneva

Good idea to begin a new thread, Luann.
Geneva!! I really hope that little guy decides to turn around - then maybe things can go without surgery. I hope so.
This evening, New Year's Eve, I get to go to the airport to pick up a friend who was visiting home in the UK - up near Chester. I'm so glad the snowstorm which brought us over 32 cm. of snow is over.
Have a great New Year's Eve everybody and Happy New Year. Tomorrow I'll post on the new Virtual 2016 thread!Geneva

Wishing all a Happy New Year! I've not written much last few months...things have just plain been a challenge . But now
with health and household issues resolving...2016 should bring us a calmer and more productive time of it !. Only a few small
hand works finished up....Hoping that Row by Row will get me inspired to sew on UFOs. I must tell you all, the projects have
been awesome and the friendships here are soooo special.! Congratulations to all with those happy babes in their families and
to those in waiting, too. It is a pleasure to see some of the old friends popping in from time to time...but there are many I miss
as they have not continued to write.....If you are lurking out there...you know who you are....join back in ! Believe me ..You are missed
so much more than you know !! This site is not the same as our old friendlier one...but it isn't too bad after a while....we just use the forum and
forget about the more confusing parts !! May the New Year bring you all many blessings !! Cheers !

Marilyn, it's SO good to hear from you! I'm glad things are beginning to clear the way for you to participate even just a tad more, we've missed you. Hugs!
Good News -
What's the best way to begin the new year???
Bring your preemie baby home! ALFIE IS HOME!
I just had some face time with my son and daughter-in-law and little Alfie (who now weighs 3 lb, 14 oz) He's 21 days old, he is!
I think it was a bit of a shock to them that they could take him home today as life in the NICU gets a little surreal after a while and you forget what 'home' looks like. Plus, you don't have all that supportive staff and technology at a second's reach. But, all in all, a good end-of-the-year story!
