Anne, I am glad you had a Happy Birthday. I have always wondered about the lovely flowers in your photo. Were they for another special occasion?
Lois, Great outfit! You selected wonderful accessories. Very artistic! Hopefully the long sleeves will discourage the mosquitoes.
Geneva, Beautiful quilt top. I see a little black surrounding the circles on the side. Nice detail. How did you do that?

Thank you everyone for the compliments on the quilt top.
Judith. I used 1" left over slices of the bargello piece placed lengthwise down the side of the quilt. I stitched a thin black edging along the raw edges. I then stitched down the red fuzzy stuff on top of the black edging. I cut circles from the left over bargello strata and placed them on top of the bargello strip/red fuzzy stuff. I sewed the circles down using black thread, but I didn't like it. It didn't look very neat. So I added a piece of batting to the back of the quilt where the circles are and zig zagged around the circles twice. Unfortunately all that "stuff" on the side made the background a tad bit wavy. So I pinned it all to my design board, got it wet and let it dry. I've squared it up again and hopefully all will be well!.
Onward to the quilting!!!

Anne I wish you a very Happy Birthday (belated), I hope that you got everything that you desired. We're having a heatwave in Scotland Anne :woohoo: 28 degrees today :woohoo:
Lois Happy Anniversary I love your outfit it's gorgeous.
Geneva your quilt is stunning and unique.
I'm still free motion quilting my 2014 quilt, I'm slow and predict it will take some time, the good news is I have half the quilt done, not counting the borders. I only work on two quilts at a time -1 machine, 1 hand quilt. I'm really enjoying quilting the 2014 BOM it's looking good
Best wishes Pam

Thanks Pam and Judith, the flowers were for my 70th birthday from my son and DIL in Australia 6 years ago.....maybe I need a new photo?
As I write this it is 79 degrees in my living room ( no air con just a fan.) I hope it cools down soon, luckily we have a ceiling fan in the bedroom.
I was going to start quilting BOM 2014 today but it was too hot.
It was 34 in the shade in our garden phew!

ritzy how long until the twins.
They are due the first week of September but Beccah said they will probably be taken C-section around the middle of August. Today she told me the babies are almost 5 pounds according to the ultra-sound measurements. So, she is carrying around about 10 lbs of baby.
