All right, I am revising my New Year's resolution...No more shopping of anything sewing related!!! One of many resolutions, is to clean/organize my sewing room..as I clean, I realize that I have more fabric, patterns, thread, stabilizer, sewing machines, books, etc, etc, etc then I could possibly need, (god forbid I ever throw anything away!) It seems the older I get, the more I seem to inherit, and of course the more disposable income I have, what with the kids having left the nest, the more I buy...I'm becoming one of those sewing hoarder people!!! Can you relate?

Yes, I can relate to all of the above.

These are the 4 fabrics I removed from my house quilt for now: 1, 3, 6, 13. Of course that may change after I get the blocks made and the arrangement isn't guaranteed, but it's a start. The pieces are cut and ready to sew.

I hope everyone is keeping warm on this 1st day of the New Year and getting lots of sewing done.

Happy New Year to all my TQS Forum friends! Still working on my 2015 wish list, but it does include learning EQ7 and trying to acquire some kind of graphic design skills on the computer. Maybe this way I can exercise my need to play with color and pattern without having to buy so much fabric!

I'm with all of you having UFO angst. However, my stack pales in comparison with some!

That's quite a collection of UFOs!

My list is not really a resolution, but goals and lifestyle changes.

First thing to do. FIND MY STUDIO!!!

It's in here somewhere under all this stuff. A lot of stuff gets put in here to be wrapped for Christmas. Or stashed to make room for the Christmas tree. Things like that. The presents are out. Soon the rocking chair and quilt rack will be out. For now, I'm working on the floor, quilting table and misc areas. Nope, I'm not showing before and after. Too shameful. :P

                Later.

I am hoping to learn a little bit about EQ7 this year too. Be careful about learning the extent of others' UFO. It's the begining of a slippery slope thinking, "Oh, I'm not so bad afterall." , can be dangerous. Ask me how I know?

That guy in the link is just a piecer, not a quilter. There IS a difference!

Are you sure? Looked to me like he was in the middle of hand quilting several quilts.

From previous comments I have read about Tim Latimer, I had put him down as more of a quilter, almost exclusively a hand quilter at that. He also seemed to me to be a quilt top rescuer - especially the dodgy pieced ones that will not lay flat and have been abandoned by their original maker.

Clara - you plan looks like a good one. I have to admit that a lot of the time this last year, I really haven't felt like buying any more fabric, because I have plenty (for me) that I haven't done anything with. And I have trouble getting to it or having the space to get it out into which is definitely killing my creativity.
