I would love for any of you to visit Cairn Carroll and enjoy the guest rooms!

It does look rather clean.... unlike the rest of the house! Don't be fooled. You saw my sewing room! :woohoo:

My problem is that the sewing room is also the guest room. I need to be forewarned of visitors, so I can get the pitchfork out and find the guest bed

Rosemary - that's my problem, too. I converted my son's bedroom into a sewing room and had a nice creative mess going, but he is home this week on leave. Hmm... love him dearly, but I've got two quilts to finish for our guild's show in a few weeks. So, I have a few hours during the day (he slept 'til 11:30 this morning) and then clean up every evening.

Geneva~ I love the quilt, pillows and wall hanging in your guest room! Fabulous colors! The fun, carefree quilting done by your new BFF is terrific, too!

Foothill Quilters Guild had their Quilt show this past weekend. I had 6 pieces in it.
My Ricky Tims COLORFUL RHAPSODY received an Honorable Mention Viewers Choice Ribbon.
Tring to add a picture of it.

I hope you get the picture posted. I have been thinking of entering my Colorful Rhapsody in our local guild show in May. I still need to finish quilting it and get it bound. I love the piecing and applique, but I am not very good with the quilting yet. To improve my quilting is one of my goals for the year.

I still have a lot to learn re FMQ, but I'll tell you this. As soon as I've use those skills on something I really care about they've improved many times over. It's as if my body knows when I am practicing and when it matters.

My theory is that when we practice on samples, we know it doesn't matter if we don't do a good job so we don't try as hard and, consequently, do progress as quickly. When we are working on a piece that matters, we really concentrate and learn and improve so much more. I'm not a psychologist, but this really makes sense to me. So I only do practice pieces in class. At home, it's all final products.
