My name is really Debbie. I am loving this project. I was having trouble with fraying so I put a thin piece of batting on the back and folded it over the front edge and basted it down. Now I can handle it more easily. I have added some 5 weight DMC perle cotton thread also.Last edited by kemopuzzle; 12-14-2021, 05:38 PM.

Carole B, You are my super Hero when it comes to hand embroidery. I loved everything you did in Color My World. I would love
it if you would post some of those pictures here on the hand embroidery thread of the forum. I know there are lots of people
doing this project that did not do Color My World and they would love and be amazed by your creativity. HelenW
I’m attaching some photos as you requested as well as some Pennies I did over the summer. Hope this gives someone inspiration. As for my piece, my silk arrived from Sue Spargo, but I haven’t had time to work with it. Too busy finishing up Christmas gifts!Carole Berry

hand stitcher. I have a feeling of trepidation every time I pick up my needle. Don't know why. Maybe because I feel so comfortable
doing applique and edge stitching by machine. But I am not giving up. I just want to be able to use it to embellish what I do by machine. HelenWHelenW

Debbie (kemopuzzle) I like how you solved your fraying problem. Also like the narrow pink circles as accents on the background.Originally posted by kemopuzzle View PostMy name is really Debbie. Your stitching does not look like a beginner. I have DMC 5 floss. Which stitches did you use it on? Your stitchinglooks great. HelenWHelenW

I do a lot of embroidery but have never worked on silk before, so this is exciting. I couldn’t find the fabric prep in the UK so used fine iron on vilene. I went round the edge of the piece with the overlocker to prevent fraying as I work. I have done several Sue Spargo patterns and have her books and am looking forward to lots of stitching.

Excited to be here! Still waiting for my silk (it's shipped just held up in the delivery process). So I found these old hand-dyed button covers and started adding stitches. I have a whole bag of these and they are perfect for practice! :-)
Being new to embroidery, I didn't realize I should have two threads. Oops.

Besides the neutral fabric kit I added things I had, white linen, champagne silk charmeuse, white radiance, and a tan wool. I'm happy with they way it turned out thought it was a bear to piece with the different fabrics. Now to get some time to work on the embroidery. Alex, thanks for the inspiration!

I started working this afternoon… all cozy with a hot cup of chai latte and sitting under my Christmas throw with my lap app and embroidery supplies around me. Aaaaaaahhhhhhh…. So delightful! I got these 3 circles completed. I used the outline stitch, the chain stitch, and did a double daisy stitch on the smallest circle. I love it!
