Alex is moving further along in her breast cancer journey. So much to consider, surgery, reconstruction, chemo, and radiation, Alex talks about how she has progressed. She discusses her health to encourage women to get tested early and to let them know there are options for everyone.
"First off I have been feeling everyone's love and concern - I mean REALLY feeling it. I am blessed beyond measure. As for the nuts and bolts, the difference a week makes is indescribable. YAY! Next week I will be meeting with my oncologist to find out what is next. I am not stressed at all because it is out of my body. One step at a time as the story continues."

Alex wants to share her story about her recent diagnosis of breast cancer. She says if you have not kept up with your testing because of COVID or any other reason, get tested. She hopes her story can influence others to get help and care and help you understand the process.

In honor of the man of the hour, we dug up this great interview that Alex had with Kaffe at his exhibit for his book, Shots and Stripes, with Liza Prior Lucy, who also joins the interview, at the 2013 Houston International Quilt Festival.
