Alex will soon be taking part in Joe Cunningham's monthly Quilt Freedom Online Workshop. Taught from his Gallery/Studio in San Francisco, Joe and Alex will have a conversation via Zoom about how our quilt world has grown and changed over the last 50 years. You'll be making a making a quilt block, plus you'll get to see some of Alex's own amazing quilts. Quilt Freedom Workshop 49: Newly Traditional with Alex Anderson and Joe Cunningham will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 Pm MST.

This past Wednesday Alex went to TheQuiltShow.com warehouse to see what's new and beautiful. There were fabrics, kits for Ricky Tims' new Portal class, and pink tools. Suzanne Eddleman, our Warehouse Manager, and Kristin Goedert, our Director of Merchandising, joined Alex and shared their personal favorites. Take a look and what's new and exciting.
Alex is moving further along in her breast cancer journey. So much to consider, surgery, reconstruction, chemo, and radiation, Alex talks about how she has progressed. She discusses her health to encourage women to get tested early and to let them know there are options for everyone.
"First off I have been feeling everyone's love and concern - I mean REALLY feeling it. I am blessed beyond measure. As for the nuts and bolts, the difference a week makes is indescribable. YAY! Next week I will be meeting with my oncologist to find out what is next. I am not stressed at all because it is out of my body. One step at a time as the story continues."

Alex wants to share her story about her recent diagnosis of breast cancer. She says if you have not kept up with your testing because of COVID or any other reason, get tested. She hopes her story can influence others to get help and care and help you understand the process.
