Alex will soon be taking part in Joe Cunningham's monthly Quilt Freedom Online Workshop. Taught from his Gallery/Studio in San Francisco, Joe and Alex will have a conversation via Zoom about how our quilt world has grown and changed over the last 50 years. You'll be making a making a quilt block, plus you'll get to see some of Alex's own amazing quilts. Quilt Freedom Workshop 49: Newly Traditional with Alex Anderson and Joe Cunningham will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 Pm MST.

"Alex Anderson is not only a media superstar in the quilt world, former host of Simply Quilts, cohost with Ricky Tims of The Quilt Show, she is an excellent quilt maker herself. And a great hand quilter. When I had a quilt in the frame a couple years ago I invited Alex to come and quilt with me on it, and it was one of my most fun days hand quilting ever. At this point she needs no introduction, but I will get to introduce her anyway and have a conversation about how our quilt world has grown and changed over the last 50 years. Smart, kind and generous, Alex brightens the whole place. Carolyn Ducey and I are picking some of the superstar quilts form the International Quilt Museum to go with the high wattage day. We'll be making a quilt block, so get comfortable in your sewing room and have some fabric handy."
