Chasing Rainbows by Jennifer Candon was featured in the Improvisation category at QuiltCon 2025. Jennifer's quilt is one that shows you don't always have to stick with your initial design if it is not working the way you want. She says, "Sometimes frustration prevails in art-making, allowing me to change course and forsake the "precious". I am willing to try something different, less controlled and less like "me". So I cut up the "first draft" and try again... something random, something very green, something that puts a smile on the frustration of efforts that were not meant to be... chasing rainbows... bringing fun and whimsy back to a process that became stalled and too heavy."

"Wild Rhodies" by Pat Durbin

Pat says of her quilt, Wild Rhodies, "Another forest quilt...yes I love them. This time I wanted to capture the sight of rhododendrons along with the redwoods. It required a photo taking excursion. I have a patient husband! The quilt is Mosaic picture pieced with appliqué details. There are also heavy machine embroidery boughs in the trees."
