Hi Lois, Surely the initial is the right way up when the bag is folded not when it is open???

I did and you're right! That's why it doesn't make any sense. Although my married name is Grant! LOL There are no surnames from either side of the family with 'G' I guess it doesn't really matter because I'll pull out what I might want and the rest goes with estate liquidation. My parents have no grandchildren & my brother & I don't need fancy linens.

For those of you who have lost both parents and have had to sell the family home - I bow to you. It is soooo hard and it is a small house. Dad died in 1992, but I was planning my wedding then so I had something else to focus on. I give mom credit because she had gotten rid of a lot of stuff in the last few years, with help from her wonderful cleaning lady.

          Hello Carol,

My sympathies to you for your loss. It's so sad that you mom didn't use her linens. Many people feel things like that are too precious to use, except for special occasions that rarely arise. I'm so glad that my great-grandmother made me promise to use the quilt that she made for me when I got married. I enjoyed it for about 25 years until it became too fragile for daily use. Now, I plan to replicate it. Also, I ask recipients of quilts that I make for them to please use them.
