Sue McCarty's show 1208
I loved this show. Thank you TQS for bringing this wonderful quilter to us. I was bowled over by her latest quilt, The Adventure Begins, that was so well presented in the show. I do have a question for Sue if she's out there listening...Did you use a combination of computerized quilting and hand guided free motion in your Harmony Within, Tribute to Tolkien, and The Adventure Begins? Well, actually, I have another question...what paints did you use on your black fabrics? Fabulous work. I am in awe!

I loved the show. I have seen the Tribute to Tolkien at several shows. It is beautiful!!! I have had my longarm for several years, but I am still on a learning curve. Just not enough time to do all I want to do, after doing all I need to do.
. That does not include housework. I don't consider that too much of a need.

ops: Oh well, it is still clean enough to be healthy in here.
Now I am busy printing the 111 pages of the Gammill manual. I did get a quick start manual, but not a complete manual. I think with the price of the machine they should at least give out a manual! I took a few notes from Sue's show to work on. As soon as I am finished here, I am going down to put another quilt in the machine and do more practice. Mine does not have a computer, so it is all free motion.

I don't have a longarm either, but I find a lot of the longarm shows give me great ideas. I would really love a Gammill 22" with the breeze track system, but it doesn't even matter if I could afford it, I can't find anywhere it would fit into my home even if I get the table/frame cut down to accommodate a 60 inch wide quilt, which is about as wide as I ever work anyway. But still, I think there is much to learn from masters of the art like this.
Cathy, how wonderful that you have a longarm. I agree they should provide a manual. Also, Cathy, have you watched one of the earlier shows that had Linda Taylor? I think that show fits nicely with this one.

Betty Jo, yes I have watched the Linda Taylor classes and shows several times. Boy, I wish I could quilt like that. I am taking a class from her at MQS this year. Can't wait to go. I have also taken classes from Kimmy Brunner and Pam Clarke. They are both great too. My problem is time to practice. No grandbabies tonight, so I am going downstairs as soon as dinner is over. Leftovers, so my cooking time is now on the computer.

I really enjoyed this show too. What a lovely lady she is. I don't have a long arm machine either, and like you Betty Jo I don't have the space for one either but I have learned a lot from watching these quilters work. I agree about the manual too. I remember when we got our first iMac and there was no manual. When we enquired we were told that it was in the computer we had to print it out ourselves. The problem was that we didn't know how to use the computer at all so we couldn't do that. Oh the frustration of those early computer days - and they were in black and white too!
