Show 1202 -Jacquie Gering and Alma de la Malena Cox

I love, love loved this show! Jacquie Gering's approach to quilting is so liberating and her quilts are fabulous. And Alma's work was so interesting - thanks for the tutorial on how to do it. And Justin your glasses look great too. Thanks TQS.

It was a wonderful show. The Afterset was great too. I think quilter's are wonderful and this Afterset is just more proof of that fact!

Up to this point I had no interest in the "modern quilt' concept, but after watching Jacquie things have changed! That is one of the many reasons why I so enjoy TQS! It introduces me to new ideas and keeps me inspired to try new things. I haven't been interested in woodworking either, but that may have changed as well!! Loved this show.

I have dreaded quilting some tops, thinking I had to get all fancy. I like intricate quilting, just not on every project. Showing the beauty of straight-line quilting was a real eye-opener for me. I thoroughly enjoyed this show.

Just spent a good bit of time on Jacquie's blog: http://tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.com/ She shares many quilts with wonderful photos.
Lots of ideas for SL quilting. Thanks, Jacquie! Thanks TQS! Great Show!

Definitely a wonderful show! Jacquie Gering style reminds me of Gwen Marston's Liberated Quiltmaking, although Jacqui's is minimalist and Gwen's is more 'exuberant" and colorful. I took a class with Gwen a couple of years ago and it felt really liberating but, didn't keep putting those lesson to work. Maybe my DSIL is right when she says I'm a... Detail oriented I'd say myself and got back to precision piecing. Hope all this makes sense. Any ways, time to try again some SLQ (straight line quilting). That's how I actually quilted my first quilt :!: you can see it here see-quilts/quilt-gallery/ I even used the serpentine stitch to quilt the borders back then (8 years ago)

Oh! I wish but, probably not. I just found it interesting. When I was watching the show I had some of those "aha!" or deja vu moments, like "been there, done that" kinda thing
