There were a ton of tips - that is for sure. I am always amazed when I screen them what is actually in them. It seems that during taping it is so intense that many of the finer details are missed on the host - at least for me. LOVED the two sided binding!!!!

I agree with you Alex, but will take baby steps. I think I'll make a little placemat and see if I can finish it off with that double sided binding. We have a one week school holiday coming up right at the end of May. Roll on!!

I am definitely going to try the rick rack binding. BTW my 94 year old mother is as eager for the shows as I am. She is more easily amazed than I am. It's all new for her.

Maybe I missed this but--Can anyone tell me if a seam allowance was added to Bonnie's strip that was marked for paper piecing? Seems like one would have to be added or you would lose your points.

Ritzy. When you first create the length of paper, you subrtact the two quarter inch seam allowances. One from each end. The paper you fold is the finished length of the quilt. Any templates you create must have seam allowances added. When you then piece the border the amount you took off in the first step is back again. It should fit.

            Hope that helped. Betty Ann

For the paper piecing the points will fall on the edge of the paper so seam allowances should be added on all four sides of the paper when you rotary cut to even up the edges. Betty Ann

When you're paper-piecing, you should cut your pieces large enough so that at least 1/4" hangs over each side edge. Then you can use a ruler and rotary cutter to trim the edges so that they have an even seam allowance that falls outside the paper.
