    Tickets for shows

I would like to ask how anyone can get tickets to be at the filming of the Quilt Show? I'm in England and could plan a holiday to fit in with the show.

I sent this in as a question on the Contact section, but had no reply.

    Thank you and best wishes,
    Paula

Paula, I think it's a lottery type system. I often wondered how anyone from far away could ever go to a taping this way. When people in the audience are asked a question they seem to mostly be from Colorado or close by.

      Hi Paula,

The tapings are a wonderful experience if you get a chance to come. I went to a day of taping in September of 2008 and I live 1100 miles away from La Veta. There were many states represented in the tapings I was in, and I know people from other countries have come many times. To receive tickets for a taping is not a lottery type situation at all. The tickets are free and are distributed on a first come, first serve basis until they are all given out. I don't know if the spots are filled for the September 2009 tapings yet, but I have included a link below that will take you to the Daily Blog where the instructions were given to get tickets for these tapings. You will love the experience! Here's the link:

A live taping of TQS is such fun to experience. My sister and I went last Sept. and went to two days worth of tapings. I enjoyed seeing how tapings are done and the town of La Veta is wonderful but they are moving the tapings to Boulder, Colorado. I plan on going to another taping sometime.

As soon as the announcement was made that taping was moving to Boulder, I put in a request for both me and my husband Steve. I was SO EXCITED when the amil came back saying we were in. My brother lives in Boulder and my sister-in-law lives just north of Denver, so in about 5 weeks, we will heading out to Colorado for a great vacation. I just think it will loads of fun too see the show from the inside out and to learn how everything works behind what we see on our computers.
As soon as dates for new tapings are announced, just get that request in. I know Alex and Ricky would love to see you there.

Thank you Dana and Robin for clearing up how to get tickets. Not sure where I got the lottery idea from! Happy you read my post and straightened it out. :-)
