    Show # 408

Thank you Alex, I learned a lot from this show. About Simply Quilts, I think what we miss is all the little tips and tricks from all those wonderful quilters its just the little things I love the TQS but still miss people like Mary Ellen Hopkins I just love seeing her .....Jean in Kenosha, Wi, spring is coming

Ok just finished watching Alex's show and really enjoyed it. I have replayed it a couple of times and am not able to get the name of the iron that she used. Anyone know what it is and how to get it.

Loved the show. The after set nearly had me in tears. Alex, I will have to tell you, I like the TQS Alex sooooooo much better than the Simply Quilts Alex. Follow your heart and keep that sunshine smile. Love ya Betty Ann in Fl.

        Sharon,
It's the Hobbico Craft Iron, I think. Go to the page where they show the venues and scroll down. All the stuff used should be listed there.

          Alex,
Our hearts are full too. I cannot tell you how much I look forward to seeing a new program every other week.
I hope you and Ricky do this for MORE than 11 years. We love having you as part of our lives.

Eileen is correct. The iron is by Hobbico and is available in the Clotilde catalogue for $32.98. Item #261014. 1 800-772-2891. Carolyn in Kerrville, TX

You guys are so awesome with information. That iron looked cool (LOL) and easy to use. Eileen -- good luck with babykins, you will be a gram before you know it.

This is one of my all time favorite shows! We only have basic cable tv so I've never seen Simply Quilts. I only knew Alex from seeing her quilts in the books I learned to quilt from by Diana McClun & Laura Nownes(Quilts,Quilts,Quilts and Quilts Galore).I used to study the neutral quilt in that book and wonder how a quilt with no color could be so beautiful. Thanks for all you've taught me Alex. Great show Alex and Ricky.... I love bright colors in my quilts but now you've opened my eyes to neutrals. Can't wait to try one. About Simply Quilts - I only saw it for the last year you were on and I am quilting because of it (you). When it was cancelled I was one of those quilters who wrote to them and expressed my feelings. However, when I got wind of this new thing on the internet with you and Ricky, I said "Where do I sign up!!!". TQS is now my favorite "go to" place for quilting. Thanks so much.... I only have basic TV also and have never seen Simply Quilts.

But I sure do love TQS and my heart is full with all I've learned, all you guys have shared, and your love and enthusiasm for our shared art form.

The show was great................ and Alex, I'm working on building my neutrals!

I ditto this and the other comments. I subscribed to this site from the beginning due to Alex's Simply Quilts on HGTV. I didn't know Ricky at the time, but now I'm honored to feel I really know both of them through The Quilt Show. Thank you so much, both of you.

If HDTV execs had even HALF a brain, (though their scheduling choices lead us to believe otherwise), they would issue DVDs of Alex's show for sale. They would sell by the thousands. And, by the way, I looked, and there's NO cash in my attic....just mouse droppings. ops:

I agree with everything everyone has said. However...if SQ hadn't been cancelled we wouldn't have TQS. I guess everything happens for a reason.

I really enjoyed Alex's show. I was one of the people who told her how much I missed her HGTV show and she asked me if I belonged to TQS. I didn't at that time, but I got busy after I talked to her and joined. I hope this makes Alex feel better about people asking about the old show. I really enjoy the TQS shows and all the features of the website. It's much more interesting than the magazines I get, read once, then toss in a pile, and I feel I get much more bang for my buck.
