If anyone is in the Northeast between April 16-18, there's a huge quilt show in Manchester, NH called MQX.
There is going to be an exhibit of men's quilts, including at least one from Ricky and a couple from David!!! WOOHOO :!: :!:
I'm definitely going to the show and can't wait to see these quilts up close.

Are you taking any classes ?
Sue
I'm not taking classes this time. I just want to enjoy the show and set my credit card on fire with some great Superior threads. The last few times, Bob the Thread Guy has been in the booth and helped me out with stuff I wasn't familiar with.
I understand completely when you say if your body lets you. I have both RSD and fibromyalgia so it might get interesting.

I've finally had a chance to sit down and watch David Taylor (Would you believe I've been busy quilting?!). This show sure separates the sheep from the goats -- it's absolutely one of the best. What a luxury to take all the time necessary for David to explain how he works, what inspires him and all the foibles that makes him a true artist. While I'll never be an art quilter, I love his enthusiasim and total absorption in his work.
In these times with noise and activity constantly bombarding us, it was so refreshing to hear his comments in the After Set about working in peace and quiet with just his thoughts. He really gets it that sometimes it is important to just be still...to just be. Bravo.

How wonderful to finally "meet" David Taylor. When I was in Houston in 2006, I did a 2-hour stint as a quilt angel and I was assigned to "Sally at the Window". So I stood in awe examining every stitch for two hours. And David never did come by during that time, but I was in awe of the quilt. Now I feel like I know him having seen him on the show. Thanks TQS for another winner.

I wish I had known more about David Taylor when I was in Houston in 2006 looking at "Sally at the Window". I knew I loved this quilt, appreciated the work and wondered to myself what Sally saw on the otherside of that window. Now that I know the work that went into that quilt, I want another look! I also appreciate David's love of peace and quiet. Carolyn in Kerrville, TX

I don't know what happened, but David's quilts were not at MQX. I even went to the show's co-owner and asked about it.
I hope to see them in person someday. I just watched the show again. What an artist. I'd give my right arm to take a workshop with him.
