Ricky Tims...
One of the things I've noticed since the start of The Quilt Show is how kind and patient Ricky Tims is. He is like a favorite uncle that you can quilt with! Every time I finish watching a show I think to myself what a sweetheart he is. We've all had those teachers who make us nervous by the way they teach...he isn't like that at all. I guess I just wanted him to know he is appreciated.
Love that Ricky Tims!!

I had the opportunity to attend one of Ricky's La Veta quilt retreats last summer and he is just like you envisioned him - patient, constructive, kind, and so focused on helping fellow quilters achieve their artistic vision! He is awesome! I feel very lucky to have someone like that in the quilting community! He brings people in to the fold! He's wonderful!MK

I agree with both of the above posts. Ricky is so generous with his time, knowledge and his desire to help you create from within yourself. Add to that a great sense of humor, who doesn't enjoy that? A big THANK YOU to you Ricky and a WOOHOO as well! Karen

Add me to his list of fans. I'm just in awe of how multi talented this guy really is... He is not only a master quilter, but a talented musician, master teacher, techno savvy, and it appears an all around generous human being with a marvelous sense of humor! Sure keeps me coming back. I attended his Super Seminar in Glens Falls last year and came away totally impressed...and I 'm not easily impressed. Lucky us.

Ricky reminds me of my brothers, just a guy that knows how to have fun and work and have fun, talk and have fun I guess he is just fun. When something goes wrong learn and laugh and have some more fun.( Yes the do get serious when they are working)
Alex reminds me of me, sometimes you get caught off guard when you are trying to be serious and they are still having fun.

I came to TQS because of being a devoted Alex Anderson fan and was absolutely thrilled to see the side of Alex we see here. And a BIG surprise to discover Ricky as I had not known much about him before this site except loving his Rhapsody quilts. I agree with everything said here. Big fan of the guy! I really hope I can go the the Super SEminar before they get tired of doing them and definitely have Ricky's retreat on my wish list.

I totally agree with all the previous posts...Ricky is a gem! Can't wait to see him in person (and Alex too!) at the upcoming Super Seminar in Frederick, MD...he is a very special person (I can almost imagine him blushing when he reads this string of posts! The world is a better place because of him! What impresses me about the Rickster is that he thinks through issues and always seems to go a step or seven further. I'm thinking of the formula for precise placement of the stitching around a motif, the flying geese technique, the unique quilting designs, especially where he tucks one feather under another. Genius! And he shares. Whatta guy!

I have been a fan of Ricky's since I saw his Caveman Quilting episode on Simply Quilts (however many years ago) and than have had the privelege and honor to meet him in person and become friends with his parents. I have also taken two of his classes, been to Super Seminar, and to the LaVeta quilt retreat. There not enough positive adjectives in the English language to explain what a fabulous, creative, supportive, kind, gentle, and loving man that he is. (Can you tell I am a SUPER FAN) but in the long run I am so blessed to have had these opportunities and will cherish the memories forever. RICKY YOU ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST. HUGS, ANN
