I loved this show too.....definitely in my top five favorites so far. Eleanor is so funny and yet so genuine in all she says. Loved seeing the beautiful string pieced quilt, and of course, thanks for playing the piano Ricky. Great show!.........Just makes me even more excited about being in the audience at this coming week's tapings.

I got to see Eleanor's USO show at Paducah this year! It was fabulous, and made me so proud to be an American!

Very entertaining show. Though I am not a "piecer" I admire those gorgeous quilts and their makers. I also much admire a woman who raised her children alone, built a career and business, became a pioneer in her field, and is just so much FUN. Right on, Eleanor!

IMHO, I like a show that is varied and has entertainment as well as instructional value. Everyone is having a good time, Ricky & Alex, the audience, the guests, and crew ... . It is infectious and I find myself smiling along if not outright laughing.

I always wonder why people are so shocked about ripping fabric. I was taught to rip fabric along the grain and then given it a tug along the bias to straighten it. It also was the custom for the fabric store to strip it off the bolt unless it was a fragile or decorated fabric. I personally hate getting a wonky cut of fabric that is so far off the grain that I lose inches of fabric. Am I alone on this one :?:

I spent too much time quilting this weekend and haven't watched the show but looking forward to it. I agree with ripping. You rip it to get it on the straight of grain.

The show was just awesome to watch! And my children actually stopped the video they were watching to see what I was laughing about!

Libbi, you are not alone about the ripping. One of the LQS that I go to still rip fabric. I usually wait for the more experienced clerk to have my fabric "cut". When I don't I usually wind up on the wrong end of the measurement!

Loved the show, I think it is great to have a forum where we can laugh and act silly. There is enough serious stuff in the world so loosen up and laugh.
I am a ripper. I rip, starch, iron, cut then I know I am on grain with my cut. I am proud to be a stripper. Betty Ann in windy rainy Florida

Just watched El's show. The woman is smart, dedicated, beautiful, a great teacher, and just about goofy as she can be. I want to be just like her!

What a fun way to wake up in the morning. I'll probably be smiling all day after watching this show. And I even learned a lot at the same time
