The forum and all my new "friends" there are my daily(usually more than once) connection to the world outside my home. I enjoy the member blogs and ,although I have fallen a month behind, the BOM is going to be a beautiful addition to my collection. The classroom lessons with Ricky and Alex are terrific even if I never get around to making a quilt in their specific styles and their blog entries are always fun and informative. I must say that although I have broadband internet I am not always successful in viewing the programs for whatever reason and am very grateful for having the option to own the programs on DVD. These are but a few of my reasons for hanging out on this website...keep up the great work!! Sally in soggy NE Ohio

Without getting REALLY sappy....TQS has gotten me through a really rough year. The friendships and the support have been "just what the doctor ordered"!! It's always felt like a safe place to play and learn and share.
My thanks go to the staff and all of the TQS members for being an important part of each and every day!

I simply must add my ditto, ditto, ditto to all the comments made here. I honestly believe it is the best investment I've made, just for myself. I watched all the "episodes" of the rhapsody blog at one time and it was a hoot, to say the least. Looking for the bear, a closeup of the cabin, excitement about the fish being alive through the winter, etc, etc. Plus all the rhapsody information. I haven't tried one yet, but there are so many beautiful ones in people's profiles. It just seems a bit daunting for me. I have made three convergences, and will try to branch out into some of the different ones in Ricky's book. THE TQS IS WONDERFUL :!: :!: :!:

When else can you pay your "therapist" for thirteen sessions, and have "group" Thank you, TQS!
Being the only quilter in my circle of friends can be rough at times however: here at TQS I can check in and get my fill of quilt related discussions.

I can't pass up this opportunity either. From the beginning, I have loved this site and that was even before the shows. It has just gotten better and better. Everyone else has done such a good job of listing the things that make this the best place ever so I won't repeat. Just THANK YOU TQS :!:

My name is Carla and I am a quilt show addict..... it has been 9 hours since my last visit and I don't want to be cured!
I love the quilt show because I have no local quilt guild or anyone else that really quilts around me. You are all my quilty family and friends. When I am not sure what I am doing someone is always there to chime in and give me help. When I want to try a new technique and don't know where to get supplies, someone is always there to give me help (thanks for the down low on the hot fix crystals Bridget!).
When my heart was breaking at the loss of simply quilts... along came TQS and more than filled the void.....I have grown to know the Alex behind the camera and find her all the more dear..... and then there are my new hosts Ricky and Justin.... they are all a hoot!
TQS gives me so much more in return than the few dollars that I have given them. I only wish I had found out about it in time to have become a charter member. :O(
Thank you ARJJ!!!

My name is Wanda and I'm a quiltaholic. My fix is TQS!!! I love the people, you all have become my friends. Where else can I talk to people all over the world and never leave home. I have learned so much, and thought that I would never try appliqué...how boring! Well, the BOM has definitely changed my mind. I love hand appliqué and learning all the different techniques everyone is using. I check in at least twice a day. It's the first thing I do when I get home from work. Thanks ARJJ for the leap of faith that brought us all together and for all you do. WandaMHappy Quilting,

Plop me down in the "addicted" group! I also have no other quilting friends except for those I have met on this site. No one in my family quilts and I'm not in a physical guild. This is the perfect cyberguild for me! TQS is my prime source of quilting information and fun and this is where I get together with all my friends! I had a question the other day about a project, I posted a picture and a plea for help in the member blogs and all my TQS friends came to my rescue. Where else can you get worldwide help almost instantly? This site has given me knowledge, inspiration, and most importantly some great friendships. Definitely worth every penny. Thank you TQS!Happy Quilting,

Dana,
I can only imagine the conversations around the table for lunch and dinner in LaVeta!!
TQS has given me a whole new perspective. I was so stuck in my box, coloring only inside the lines. I was tired of quilting the same thing over and over. I can look at it so differently now. It's hard to put into words-yeah, that's right; I'm at a loss for words.

I have stayed out of this thread because you have all heard my thoughts on TQS ad infinitum. I have to admit that occasionally there is a show, a technique or some suggestion on the forum that is not something I would do and am truly not interested in. It is few and far between but differences are what make the world go round. I am not a traditional quilter and will never be a hand quilter. Am I going to quit coming here because Alex did a series on hand quilting. I watched every one and learned some things that will be helpful if I never pick up a quilting needle to do hand quiltiing.
And as far as some of the nonquilterly comments and things that come here, we are human beings and as Ricky said in the first show We need to get a life!!! So I love reading a blog about a graduation, cried over the flood story in the stories section etc. etc.
So for me ARJJ you are doing a wonderful job and keep it up. I know you are adding new things but for now its pretty darn close to perfect for me. I am not sure how much more quilting excitement this old body could stand.

AMEN TO THAT, JUDY!Originally posted by dogquilterI too will admit again that I am a TQS addict. I have been inspired by several of the shows, but more so by my fellow quilters. This site is more than just a quilt show.

 It's good to have a place where you can talk and listen, cry and laugh, give and take. No matter how your day is going this is the place to be. Sisters are good to have. Thank you for this space.
