Looks wonderful, Annis! I love the movement that the turned blocks add to the quilt. And your colors are just so gorgeous!

That quilt top looks great Annis. If I lived nearer I would quilt that top for you, happily.

Here are my week 4 star blocks

I used the Companion Angle Ruler to cut the QST and the Easy Angle Ruler to cut HST from 2" strips of fabric. No need to trim or mark just cut the pieces the right size, sew them and voilà :!: I learned this from Bonnie Hunter/Quiltville.com - here's a link to a blog post with a free pattern where she shows how to use the rulers. http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2012/...ime-stars.html

thank you very much for showing this trick and for the link. I have got the Companian Angle Ruler but never thought to use it for this. I will look for the Easy Angle Ruler next time I visit a quilt shop.

Beautiful stars Limbania, so perfect! And thanks for the tips about the rulers. I think I have both of those rulers but never thought to use them that way. Even with the Eleanor Burns flying geese ruler I still didn't get my points perfect so maybe I will try the two rulers next time.

I put my final borders on my sampler last night. I would have liked to do a piped trim in the sage green but I didn't have enough fabric left so I put a very thin border in instead (1/4" finished size). The orange border fabric is one of the dyes I did myself and I am delighted to have found a use for it. I even managed to use up the log cabin blocks that I didn't put into the body of the quilt. DH thinks it's the most beautiful quilt I ever made! (I have just realized that it is in the colours his mother loved, completely unconsciously on my part. :? ) Now to figure out how to quilt it.

Thanks TQS for making this available. And thanks Laura Nownes for putting the classes together. I really enjoyed it, and everybody's companionship.

Oh, Rita, that is so beautiful! The hand-dyed border is so perfect for this quilt! I don't think you even need the piping. The border tells it all! Can't wait to see what you do with the quilting.
