Looking for pattern

I have attached a picture of a quilt block from quite some time ago. I can't figure out how to piece the black & white background. Does someone know of a book or instructions for piecing this? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I think you should see the pattern as stripes. These stripes are just curved. When you have done the stripes in one direction, you can assemble them in the other. Or you might approach it the Caryl Bryer Fallert way and applipiece them, watch show 1308 to see what I mean. I hope this helps

I've done something similar by layering two pieces of fabric together,
cutting wavy lines, and then weaving the strips together. You end
up with a double layer of fabric, but the look is similar to this.

I saw this way demonstrated at a quilt show, it works!. Maybe a layer of fusible web would help keep it together.

Another method you could use would be English Paper Piecing. It would work very easily if you like hand work (and carefully identify the pieces & grain)
Here is a tutorial I wrote about the technique community/my-profile/PosyP
