Thanks for all the compliments. Yes, it is cotton clothesline wrapped with 3/4" strips of quilt fabric. I've tried but it is not very becoming as a hat. It was so much fun to make. Wrapping the chord is the most tedious but once that is done its fun and easy. I want to make more.

I've done a few and agree. The fabric looks quite different when sewn on so you can use up ones you're not so keen on and it still looks good. I've seen some with all sorts of shapes and appendages. It's quite an art

I've done the bottom of bags that way, but I really love your basket!

My nephew and niece are ranchers in northeastern Colorado and have just adopted a baby girl. When I saw a Curby's Closet pattern for these cowgirl baby booties I could not resist... even though I only sew flat! After seeing the gorgeous basket Lois made, I think these booties might benefit from a little yo-yo on the side...

Fab. But a pair of yoyo spurs would be so much fun.
