Sister time is the best time. Happy Birthday Florence.Originally posted by florenceGee it's been a long time since anyone's had a birthday! What, are the rest of you not aging  :?: Please, share your secrets, b/c today is MY birthday! :!:
I'm hoping for some sewing time but my big sis is taking me to lunch & some "girl-time" and (in the US) it's Memorial Day weekend so lots going on around town. Didn't get my hoped-for machine time last night, instead sat w/ Mom for 4+ hours at hospital while she got a transfusion, but we had fun talking about how we were together in the hospital 49 years ago   Learned that my Dad left my sis, then age 2, at home alone while he delivered Mom to the hospital, left her there (of course, that was probably the norm back then) and went home to sleep!
Anyway, 4 hours makes for good BOM progress, still looking on target to finish before June!

Florence, Happy Birthday from me, too. Hope your day was wonderful, just like you!
Still waiting for the baby arrival in California; looks like he's going to miss being born on your day -
- maybe it will be Patti's!
Happy birthday to you, Patti, as well.
Mine isn't until January, so it's a long time from now!

thanks for all the kind wishes, and Happy Birthday to you Patti!
It was a great day, the weather could not have been better! Sis and I drove over to Culpeper, about 30 minutes away, used to be any-old small town, but has become really hip & trendy-- nifty shops & restaurants. So what did we find? A Bernina dealer! It wasn't totally a fabric shop, lots of art supplies, knitting, crafts-- AND Elinor Peace Bailey was there!!! OK, I admit, I couldn't remember WHO she was but I knew I'd seen THAT before  Sis was amazed! I had to go back to Annie Smith's site to look her up, I knew I'd run across her in a podcast!! (from March '08, or here's Elinor's site: http://www.epbdolls.net/)
AND Mom gave me Meg Cox's new book
Barely got any machine work done, but almost finished BOM except berries, which are made & waiting. But still 2 days before I have to go back to work, so there's a good chance I'll still get to sew!
Hugs, Florence

Florence that sounds like a good day. I miss my Virginia so much that I was right there in Culpepper with you reading about your day. I got a good birthday gift from Virginia yesterday. I bought my Bernina from the Centreville G Street store and never got my intro class before my company snatched me away to Michigan. I wrote both G Street and Bernina and never heard about it in 18 months until yesterday when I got a letter I can take to a dealer here to get the class. Yippee!
I also got a 'Thank you God' call from a sister who's been out of touch and in some trouble since the first of the year. She didn't remember it was my birthday (but God did) and I was so grateful to have the chance to tell her no matter what happens to her, I will always be in her corner.
