    The Brother SE 400 Machine

First time posting here! Go gentle on me if I am breaking any rules with this post

A close friend of mine has recommended the Brother SE400 as a well featured, cost-effective sewing / embroidery machine.

I was wondering whether any fellow forum members have used or are using this machine and what their thoughts might be. Is is a worthwhile investment for the money??

Looking forward to any responses you guys might have for me

    Thaanks

Welcome to the forum PeterNaquin! I don't have any first hand info about the machine, but maybe some others can chime in.

Hi and thanks for the warm welcome!
I have done a bit of research online and found some good reviews. This Brother SE400 review was good at highlighting the feature set. And things look good over at Amazon with reviews.

Would still love to hear the thoughts of other users on the forum

Hi Peternaquin! Welcome to the forum. I had a brother sewing machine SE400 (that's the Special Edition one they brought out a few years ago for their anniversary I think, at least that's what I had.) I am wondering what you want the machine for? Is it as an embroidery/sewing machine specifically? Or is it as a quilting machine? I can tell you that it did not work for FMQ (free motion quilting) very well for me. The feed dogs did not seem to be designed to take a lot of being dropped and raised. As an embroidery machine I think it would probably be okay. It does have lots of nice features for other things but I found it impossible as a quilting machine. Hope that helps.
