    Feet for Bernina Q20s

I had a question sent by message to me by Claire elizabeth, and I tried to send Claire a return message, but it kept disappearing. So I thought it would be a good idea to discuss this here anyway. Her question was "I just got my Q20 and wondered if the Westerlee Ruler foot that I have for my Bernina 830 can be used on the Q20 or only the new Bernina #72 for ruler work?"

Claire, you can use any free motion foot on your Q20 that you can on your 830, so you should be able to use the Westalee ruler foot. However, it has to be used with the adapter foot and there is a screw that might get in the way of some rulers. I use the #96 foot on mine, which is the one that Bernina created for their Q series machines, but I'm going to buy the #72 because there is a height adjustment on that foot that I think would be a big advantage in some stitching, and then I could also use it on the 830 if I wanted to. So if I were you, I'd order the 72 foot an use the Westalee while you wait for it, because they are only just beginning to come in.

    #2
    Hi Betty,
Thanks for your sound advise about ruler feet. I'll try the Westalee which is adjustable and consider the #72 as it is adjustable as well. The last thing I want to do is use a foot that could possibly damage my new machine or not fit correctly with the rulers. Now back to playing with this wonderful machine that makes a beautiful stitch even with 100 wt. silk.
