    stalling foot pedal

On the 830, piecing or regular sewing, when I push down on the foot pedal after stopping, there is a pause and the machine will not sew, then it sort of kicks in and begins stitching. So irritating. Going to take it to the dealer and perhaps there is some quick fix ? Otherwise I love using it. Can't get enough of the things it does.

I've noticed this same thing on my machine. I notice this happens only when I use the option that automatically raises the foot when I stop sewing. Never happens if I have this feature turned off and only use the knee lift. It seems like the machine is just going thru it's cycle of raising the foot because if I wait a second, all is well. Have you noticed this???

I took the machine in and they found no problem with the foot pedal, and was told there was an update, it was installed and it seems like it has solved the irritation. And the dealer recently sent a kit for the 830S. It should help with clearing the thread breaking etc. When it is working great, I love it. Guess its a Love-Hate relationship. Hope you can get the upgrade and solve the hassle too. Thanks. Laurel

I have a Janome 6500 and it stalls, drives me crazy. I also complained about it and they couldn't find anything. Of course, it's my imagination. LOL

The computer on the 830 is slow. I know what you mean about waiting for things to happen. I think there is so much in that machine that it is a bit retarded. Hopefully your dealer can speed it up a bit but I don't have any answers. Marilyn
