    Embroidery problem

I haven't been doing any embroidery for a while but got myself in gear last week
and digitized 5 new designs for a project. Friday I stitched out some test
samples and suddenly the machine (a 730)started stitching in one place and I
couldn't stop it using the stop button but had to turn it off. I thought the
file was corrupted so I deleted it and wrote it again and finished with no
problems. A couple of designs later the same thing happened with a different
design but same USB (a Bernina, that came with the unit) and I decided to write
the designs to another stick and see what happened. All went well the rest of
the day and Saturday. I tested the original USB stick for bad clusters and there
were none. Yesterday however the exact same thing happened again - machine
stitching in the spot - so now I am worried that it is something with the
    machine or the embroidery unit.
Anybody else had the same or a similar experience? Am I facing yet another board
exchange? I sincerely hope not. I don't really know whether or not just to
continue embroidering. I so want to finish this project now I have started it
and it is a gift but it is very hard to find the exact place where the stitching
has been interrupted. If it is a board that is going bad then I might as well go
ahead and have it repair asap so I hope somebody has had the same happening to
them and knows what is going on.
    TIA

The following are quotes from the Bernina V6 Yahoo Groups:

This discussion was similar to what you describe.

"I have the 200/730 and I also had it stop in the middle of a large embroidery
design. I live 250 miles from my Bernina dealer, so I called the repairman
thyere and he told me that the speed needed to be calibrated, and he talked me
through the recalibration. It is not all that difficult to do. When I had the
upgrade to the 730, they gave me a print out that updated the manual to fit the
    730. The procedure to recalibrate is in that print out. At that time, the print
out was available on the Bernina USA web site, and you could download it. I
haven't looked for it in awhile, so I don't know if it is still there or not.
Recalibration seemed to fix the runaway problem, my machine hasn't runaway since
    I did it."

Regarding the manual supplement on http://www.berninausa.com:

"It is still there, but if anyone goes to search for it, just type in
    730. If you attempt to search using something like 730 Manual Supplement
(which is what it is) you'll get no hits! Just use 730 and then scroll
to the bottom and it's about 8 up from the bottom."

The manual supplement is a pdf so you can download it.

Additionally, it seems to me that this has happened to me on occasion when I'm using a file I digitized. I just pull the plug, reboot, & go back to where I was in the design & keep on going.

Thank you, Sue. I will do a recalibration today when I find the supplement. I stitched out a design from within the machine yesterday as well as one of my own on the USB stick and it stitched fine. I hope it is just a fluke and the recalibration will do the trick. Thanks again
