    Regular Presser for the foot

Okay, I did a bonehead thing and adjusted the presser for the foot so that I could do free motioning and forgot to check to see what the number was BEFORE I changed it so I could put it back. ops:

I lowered it to 20 before I got the presser foot from stomping on my quilt. Finished what I was working on and then had an oh shoot moment. I kept raising it back up until the screen on my 450 said 1C.

Can anyone tell me if that is what is considered the default presser for the foot?

    Duh, I can't believe I did that.

I don't have a 430 but does it have a reset to default settings on it?

I don't think mine has a return to default button. That would be sweet!. I couldn't find it in my Mastery book either.

Shoot! My dealer is at a show up in Washington until Monday. I will call them next week.

I took my 440 in last year when it was acting up and part of my problem was that I had adjusted the presser foot pressure too low. Here is what the technician wrote on my work order....

"Foot pressure dial [was] on 26. No reason to have below 47 unless super thick project. For BSR leave at 47 -- will cause poor tension if too low."

So that's where I have mine now.

Thanks Bridget, for the info. I'm just learning to use my BSR and took it into the dealer yesterday for tips on getting the stitches to look right. They didn't mention pressure foot settings. SOO, I'm going to check my setting today. Thanks Ladyquilter for posing the question. You guys are great!

BTW - If you haven't bought your BSR recently, you may want to check with your dealer. I had to take mine in for a software update. It's supposed to improve stitches.

Bridget -- you rock! Thanks so much. Just curious if yours shows a number and letter too when you get to a certain point. Wonder what that means.....

Glad I could help! It's been over a year since I adjusted the pressure and had my issues so I don't recall if it showed any numbers or letters on the screen. And now I'm too chicken to change it to find out! Hee hee!

I have the bernina aurora 450 as well. The presser foot pressure is set at 47 for normal sewing with foot 1c.
