Which foot for invisible applique using MonoPoly Invisible

What foot do you use for invisible machine applique on your Bernina? I'm using an OLD 830 and haven't used it yet for this purpose.

I use foot #20 with a reversed (mirrored) vari-overlock stitch. Happy stitching!

Believe it or not, I use the #37 foot, using really narrow zig zag (1.0) or blanket stitch. It was a Sharon Schamber suggestion and it works really great. You can see it really well and you don't break the needle if you are careful NOT to get the stitch too wide.

Well, I was using the #37 and thought maybe there was something better! I liked it.

Brigit, I don't think my old 830 will do a reversed overlock mirrored stitch! ha

        Will it?

No, it won't, Lynn. I have an old 930 and it won't do that. But I love it anyway. When I can't remember how to make all the whistles and bells on my newer machines work, I'll still be able to sew on that 930!

I used the free motion foot with the feed dogs dropped using Wonder Invisible thread by YLI on the top only, successfully with out the aggravation of the thread breaking . I just finished an applique pattern by Mac Kenna Ryan - Pine Needles. I mainly did a free motion zig zag over the fused edges. I used steam -to steam 2 to fuse pieces. It is double sided and makes applique a charm. I used cotton thread in the bobbin. It worked great for me.

The #20 is an open toe foot - so It is great for applique because you can see where you are sewing.

I'm so old-fashioned with my machine applique! I've always used a blind hem stitch for turned-edge applique the way Harriet taught. I haven't been able to get a zig zag or other stitch to look as nice. It's stitch C on my old 900.

And I've always used my 20 foot. Although I could use my 37 because the blind-hem is set so narrow (and really short on my dial), I like the flared flange in the bottom of the 20 foot to accommodate the turn-under and help with curves.

I still use the same stitch - it's just 7 now on my 430. And even though I love my 430, I'm never getting rid of my 900! =)
