Attachments for old but still great Berninas
When I turned 60 years old, my birthday present was a new Bernina 1130. That was over 19 years ago. I have been watching a few of the videos by Bernina with much interest and would love to know if the needle felting attachment and also the circle making attachment are suitable for my old - but wonderful - Bernina. I am sure the stitch regulator would not work, but maybe some of the other new ones would. I have had a walking foot for many years.
For me, Bernina is absolutely by far the best machine in the world.

I got my first Bernina, an 1130, almost 19 years ago also.....that was a great machine. I used it for ten years and then sold it (HUGE MISTAKE). Even though I sold it for only $300 less than we paid for it, I should have kept it forever. I have had a 150 for nine years. It does a beautiful job, but nothing to compare to that 1130.

Carol, I traded my 1130 for a 1230 15 years ago--love my "old" machine! I, too, thought the new feet looked great, especially the free-motion couching foot. I checked with my dealer to see which of these new feet would fit my machine--alas, the free-motion couching foot does not. But some of the others do. So check with any Bernina dealer and they can tell you if the feet you are interested in will fit.
By the way, I got the 1230 because it has an alphabet--can you guess how many times I've used that feature? Probably less than 3 times. I'll never part with my 1230 but I've been looking at the 440--the BSR might be just what I "need"!

I've bought many feet for my old 730 (which my mother purchased for $600 in 1968), and they work great.
I'd love to have the free-motion couching foot, but that is one they don't make for the old machines.
Pick a foot, and your dealer can tell you whether it's available for your old Bernina.

Carol - I am not sure if the 1130 has a CB or a rotary hook (19 years ago I was only 14 and I didn't even know the word Bernina). Anyway, the needle punch accessory can be used on CB hook machines (5.5 mm stitch width).
As for the circle making attachment - are you referring to the "Circular Embroidery Attachment #83"? If so, the Feetures book (#2) mentions "The newer version of the attachment", so I suspect there is one for older models. I've never seen it work but it just seems to have to be attached to one of the screw holes on the throat of your machine.
I'd say you would have a chance at both attachments!
