but only if the sewing is as good as the larger one, I bought a small battery sewing machine for fun and to see if it was any good, on the box it said 'Sew like a Professional' - well I am a professional, but I couldn't get the darned**** nusiance to sew a decent seam for love nor money  It is no longer taking up valuable stash space in this house!
Like a professional WHAT??? A professional 6-year old???

I haven't even tried it yet, busy getting #1 son off for a trip to England then #2 heads back to VT on Sunday. First chance I'll let you know. There's a little patch of fabric with stitches under the needle, they LOOK even, who knows? But it looks like "Florence" had a baby... not sure if George wants me to name a toy sewing machine after him!

Possibly as good as a professional 6-year old at tantrums   .... but nah - not even that good :?

In this case it was definately the machine not the operator.

Hi! I just looked at your gorgeous Featherweight cases! I am inspired... have to figure out how to do something similar. You see, TODAY I bought my first Featherweight 221! Happy early 50th birthday to me!

I found her on Craigslist, met the lady at a Starbucks to try it out, and fell in love. Ended up the seller and I chatted for 2 hours after I bought the FW! What fun, we'll be meeting up soon, to visit quilt shops out her way.

But I am SO excited about my pretty shiny adorable little black & gold & chrome baby!
(I just uploaded a photo of her onto my profile. Apologies for the busy background, I was too excited to clear off the kitchen table!

Good for you! Renovating a case is a lot of work because all the black covering ( every single bit) has to be removed. Then the case sanded very smooth. After that the sky is the limit. Have fun!

Hi! Thanks for the tips! I'll check out that video. I live in the land of Dave McCallum, so I'm hoping he will be teaching classes this year. Do you have any suggestions for how to remove the leather? Is it glued down? Not going to start this quite yet, since DH and I are visiting friends in Rome soon, but wanted to ask while I have your expert attention.

This is the first sewing machine I've brought home that grabbed Bob's attention! He has peeked and poked at it a couple times! Maybe his teenage "restoring Model A Ford" gene has been reawakened?

I have noticed that strange phenomena, when I meet someone who owns a FW, they usually don't have just one....

Oh! Margo, yes! That's Dave's video snippet. If the dear lady who sold me my FW hadn't already sold me on learning from him, that video would have sold me! Thanks to you and everybody for being such helpful founts of info!
