Tide to Go marker

(( Tide to Go )) keep one in your sewing room!

After pin pricking my fingure tips afew times yesterday, this "tide to go" helps with those little tiny blood spots!
the "tide to go" looks like markers, thier really magical markers!!!

It sounds a bit gross but if you prick your finger and get blood on a piece you are working on your own saliva will remove the blood instantly!

You're right it sounds gross! But it really works? How could I have gone this long and never heard that? Thanks so much!

Now, if we could just avoid the pricking in the first place or the slicing of the fingertip when changing a rotary blade.

I've never tried spit. "Tide to go" sounds more appetizing. Do you have to catch it right away with the saliva? I was quilting this afternoon and found a spot I hadn"t noticed at the time of the mishap. It's small and I figured I'd use a bit of "spray and wash" when the quilt was done and ready for the wash. I'd be willing to try the saliva method but don't want to be spitting on the quilt if it doesn't work on old stains. Gloria

Yeah, I'll stick with the "tide to go" marker! I just discovered this would be a "great item" to add to my sewing room. The spray & wash is agreat item also,they sell these in mini bottles too.

If you're going to use your own saliva, it should be done asap after it happens.

after trying spit on white and it just smears" LOL (I think i'll stick to the "tide to go" marker) it works great!!!

I'm baking a loaf of raison bread with glaze today. Rolls tommorrow.

Hydrogen peroxide also works to get blood out of fabric. I work with nurses and this is what they do when an accident occurs. I don't know about old stains , but I would definetly test it before using it on a quilt top! WandaM

For some reason...I cannot stand the smell of the Tide marker....

I tend to spit....the enzymes in the spit digest the protein in the blood.

Spit works--I've used this method many times while hand quilting. I learned it from my "old timer" quilting friends in the 1980's. And I DO wash all of my quilts after quilting! :lol:
