QNM--Quilters Newsletter Magazine. Great magazine. I've had a subscription since before I started quilting. Great patterns, great layout and articles. Lots of very useful inforamtion. They also have a good web site. This magazine and Simply Quilts have been my "personal teachers" for about 5 or 6 years.

QNM is a magazine: Quilter's Newletter Magazine. The older issues are fantastic! I don't care for the new version that much.

It's too hard to watch the QShow on the computer while I sew!

QNM means Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. This is a wonderful place for tips and inspiration. :!:

Has anyone ever watched Create TV? In NJ it's on WLIW, which is channel 133 in my area. I just found it and they have Lap Quilting with Georgia Bonesteel and Martha's Sewing Room. Two wonderful shows if you can get them.

You can still get SQ's on-line as reruns. I love it if only for the fact that I can catch the shows I missed. Also, you can print out instructions you need instead of having to take notes, which I was never very good at.

SQ is back on.YEA! HGTV must have gotten tired of all the letters they got from Quilters fussing about them taking SQ off TV.

I also will print a design from the computer, or draw one of my own. I then trace it on to a product like Sulky solvy. I have found a bright blue sharpie will show on both light and dark fabrics. I then spray the back side of the Solvy with 505 spray to stick it to the right side of the quilt. It holds the fabric stable as I will procede to free hand those quilting lines. The product is easy to rip off the top of the quilt, and if any remains it comes out by rubbing with a damp cloth if you do not want to wash the quilt immediately.

I have a question about the Crayola Washable Markers for quilt markings. Do you handle the washing as with the wash-out markers? That is, no soap just rinse in clear water? Will soap set the markers? I've heard so much about the wash-out markers leaving brown marks on quilts after alot of years, but I've never had that problem. I wonder if the Crayola markers will leave residue after many years? I'll probably try the Crayola markers, but I'm too chicken to use them on a very special quilt! I usually use a Pentel Techniclick 0.5 pencil to mark quilting lines on light fabric. It marks very lightly, sometimes gone with the quilting.

When I tested the crayola markers I rinsed the marks out in running water in the kitchen sink. The marks came out but were pretty fresh. On my finished quilts the marks come out in the washer with a little bit of regular laundry detergent. I always wash my quilts when they're finished and haven't had any problems with getting the marks out.

Be careful with washable markers on red or pink fabric. The blue Mark b gone markers can turn brown on red or pink.
