    Motivational Friday!

Hey all! Well, I'm down to finishing 2 blocks for the 2nd wedding quilt - just framing strips around the strip sets. I've laid out 4 of the 9 sections of it and found my "design wall" is no where near big enough, so guess it'll be the living room floor after all. So far I really, really like it. I won't make my goal of having both quilts finished by the time the kids get here July 3, but if both tops are finished (and the first one is), then I can live with that. Maybe I can get them done in time to take them to WA with us for ds's wedding at the end of July. We'll see. I have backing for one and am going to the LQS (30% off sale) today to look for the other one. My mind is jumping ahead here and there to think about what I'll work on next - I have an overdue baby quilt to do, then I think finish up some other in-progress projects.

    What's everyone else working on?

In leafy Berkshire, south of England.

Wow, sound like you are having fun with those 2 wedding quilts. I've been working on a bedspread for my Mum and Dad for 2 years now. Mum saw some fabric she just loved, and it has taken me this long to fine matching fabrics and decide on patterns. The applique was the first inspiration, and then when that finished, it was finding all the matching fabrics.. Hopefully today I'll finish the bordering squares, and sew the top together. Then to sort some fabric for the skirt.

My next project will be my HST's.. oh and to finish the scrap quilt i have made for my lounge room. I need some border fabric for the scrap quilt and the neutral fabric for my HSTs so that involves some more shopping! Then its on to my personal journey quilt. This is going to take pride of place at home and has been years in the design stage!

Looking forward to seeing your finished quilt tops.

Darce - I can't believe you are getting those two wedding quilts done so fast AND planning the weddings, AND working AND worrying about a baby quilt! Can't wait to see the wedding quilts. Hope you were able to find some backing on sale so that you can get that out of the way.

Cath - your quilt for your mum sounds great. I love applique so my interest was piqued right away at that! Hope the shopping goes well for the HST neutral. More shopping is always good!

I went to a family reunion yesterday and wanted to leave early (but didn't cuz i ending up going with my Mom and Aunt) to get to a quilt shop by 4:00 and look for one more dark and one more medium I need for a quilt our monthly Monday group is doing. Nearly everyone is doing it but using their own colorway. Last month was "shop for your fabric and bring it in" month. Some ladies have their fabric bought and the top all put together already! By next month no doubt they will have it all quilted, too! By hand no doubt!! It really makes me feel like an underachiever sometimes! Oh, well. Everyone works at their own pace, right?

Since I did not laundry or housecleaning yesterday, that will have to be on today's agenda, too. But I refuse to spend an entire Sunday cleaning - which is why I will probably end up mowing the lawn today before it rains again! More forecasted for Tuesday. I hope to get a little quilt time in either at the machine with the final border for DD's grad quilt or else some applique in between loads of washing and hanging laundry.
