    Some sun please for Saturday?

Oh it would be so nice to see the sun today. Don't think it's going to happen so in my neck of the woods we will be happy if the faucet from the sky shuts off for a bit. DD#3 said, "Mom, are you ever going to wash white clothes?" Guess I will have to break down and do laundry and just put it in the dryer instead of hanging it out like I have been wanting to all week. If I get it all washed and dried in the dryer, then it's a guarantee the sun will come out, right?

I have cookie dough in the fridge I made the other night so I am going to roll those out, cut them and bake them to put in the freezer for DD's grad party in two weeks. THe French Open is on so I can watch Nadal play right now while I do that. Then it's laundry and later today a wedding reception. I hope to get DD's bargello quilt sewn up, too, this weekend. I won't have it all quilted for a May finish but a June finish it will be!

I so hear you on the sun thing Kathy! We've seen it briefly here and there, but now that Memorial weekend is here - cloudy and chance of rain/thunderstorms all weekend. dd1 is flying in later today for a few days so we can take care of wedding reception details. That means my sewing's on hold - gotta clean up my mess in ds's room so that she has a place to sleep! I really want to finish my BOM block this morning since the last "class" is next weekend. When we aren't doing wedding related things, I'll be at work trying not to get too far behind.

Sun would be lovely. I saw it at 7 this morning for a few minutes. It's gone again with showers forecast for today and then rain for a few days. I'm still hoping to go to a small quilt show this afternoon. Other than that I'm poking at two projects, one hand and the other machine pieced.

Just go outside and wave the clouds southward, or come to Houston. We are 4 1/2 months and counting with no appreciable rain. It rained for about 5 minutes the other night and when I went outside 30 minutes later the street was already dry! Oh well, I can at least get some work done in my garden while my friend in KY can't even get hers planted :!:

Yes, Brenda, I know what you mean! I have a friend whose daughter lives north of Houston in Kingwood. She said the same thing - Can't get it to rain there for anything. And it seems Mother Nature just doesn't want to share! I don't mind sharing the sun and rain evenly with the rest of North America! She just seems to be stuck in the same groove!!

Darce - Yup, clouds and rain here, too. A bit warmer this weekend though so that is some good news. DH has 100 acres of corn to plant yet and it's almost time to start planting beans (black beans.) Sounds like a busy weekend for you with wedding plans, Hope it all goes well.
