Hello Thursday
Morning all,
Well last night I got most of my dad's annual review done, his guardianship court documents done, and my mom's medicare stuff done. phwwww! Now that's over for another year... Yipppeeee! I realized I still have to finish one thing with our WI state taxes, gather my mom's stuff for her taxes and I found some pension stuff for my dad... well... I will do a little bit today then hope to get down to the sewing room and knock out some of these projects on my list!!! Hope everyone has a productive day!
Happy Stitching,

Margaret - glad you got most of that paperwork all done and behind you! I am a firm believer of the saying, "If it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done." That's how I operate a lot of the time, unfortunately!
ANOTHER snowstorm Tuesday night and all day yesterday. We must have gotten at least 5 " Tuesday night and then there HAD to be another 3" on my car when I left work yesterday. It was a miserable day and since I HAD to stop at the store for some necessities, get gas, and get my hair cut since I forgot to show up for my appointment on Tuesday. I didn't get home until nearly 6:00 p.m. Then I made supper and sat my fanny on the couch where I did some applique and watched "The Princess and the Frog" with DD #3. That was nice.
We had a busy week with DH's grandfather's death last Thursday and funeral Monday. He was 96 and sharp as a tack right to the end. My DD's that works in Indiana and DD that is in college were home for the weekend plus a Japanese student DD #2 is hosting at college. My son and his girlfriend came for dinner Saturday night as did DH's two aunts, an uncle and a cousin since they were all in town for the funeral. My two DD's were able to stay home until Tuesday and they made it back before the storm. That was a relief, too.
Today I am working and then going home to start the weekend cleaning/finish cleaning from having a house full. It was nice to have all the bedrooms full again.

We were lucky with the spring storm and just had a dusting here near LI Sound -- thank goodness!! I did get a bunch of sewing done yesterday and have 10 more pieced blocks to go before I hit the next phase of this complicated scrap quilt I'm doing. I've finished 20, if I get the 10 done, then I just have 30 strip blocks to cut and resew -- then the pieced border -- hmmm....maybe I'll get this done by July
Kathy, sorry about your dh's grandfather. How lucky that your kids got to know him well. My FIL is 91 and recovering from a fall -- still got his wits (and wit) about him as well. The PT people got him back on his feet yesterday so hopefully he'll be able to come home from the rehab hospital in a short while.
Hope you all have a good day!

Margaret - Guardianship and caregiving are full time endouvers - you're doing a wonderful job!
Kathy - Sorry to hear about DH's grandfather - glad the kids were around and got back to school and jobs before your last storm. Get ready we're sending you another storm. (I gotta say this is the coldest and wettest weather So Cal has had for several years).
Peggy - Nice to hear you're making progress on your scrap quilt - can't wait to see it!

Thanks for the good thoughts, everyone, on the passing of DH's grandfather. He was a very polite and kind man. I never heard him or DH's grandmother who passed away in 2000 say an unkind word about anyone. My MIL is the same way.
And I stand corrected - we got 12" of snow according to the local newspaper. It's starting to melt as today (Friday) and yesterday were sunny.
