Good Sunday Morning!
Well, I feel like I've had a nice productive day yesterday! I went to a friend's for an Uppercase Living party in the morning, put the last 2 borders on a wallhanging, then layered and pin basted that (I forgot how much I don't like pin basting), pieced the backing for a lap quilt, layed out and numbered the blocks for another lap quilt and cut all the pieces from the accent fabric for ds/ddil2b's wedding quilt. Plus I even got a couple of loads of laundry done! I have a couple more loads to do today. I'm going to layer the lap quilt today, then work on quilting a baby quilt, the wallhanging and if I'm really on a roll, start on the lap quilt. It feels good to be accomplishing something again. Hey, I may even get to post on the finishes thread! haha
What's everyone else up to today??
Hugs,
Darce

Hi Darce -
I had a productive day yesterday, too. I shovel snow, walked and played with the dog, did laundry, swept all my floors, checked over the tax forms I got back on Friday from the accountant to make sure nothing got forgotten, got DD #2 and #3's FAFSA forms finalized and submitted as well as the supplemental financial aid form DD #2's college requires and is one DD#3 is considering going to, too. I got the mail down to the mailbox (twice) before the mailman came. I made supper, cleaned up dishes and then went to take a shower. Where we were out of hot water!!!! . So my BIGGEST accomplishment of the day was convincing DH that thereIS something wrong with the geothermal heating unit and dragged him down to the basement where we found the insulating wrap around the pipes leading to the underground loop full of water. I TOLD DH nearly a month ago the furnace was running CONSTANTLY. I got poo-pooed and told "It's supposed to run - it's winter." Well, suddenly, NOW he is all for calling the plumber who did the install. We had trouble with getting the in-floor basement heat going in January and since the guy was here the last time, Inoticed the furnace just runs constantly. Wait till we get the electric bill for this month. I hope today goes better.

Hello Darce and Kathy!
Nice day here with temps in the mid 50's today.
Not much quilting here lately, our 3 1/2 yr old DGS spent a couple of nights in CHOC (local Children's Hospital). He had a severe case of the 'flu'. (Amazing what IV bags and pancakes can do)! We're certainly looking forward to a better week.

It is Eileen - only instead of cookware, it's vinyl "expressions" or sayings that can be applied to a wall or other surface. I have one in my sewing area that says "when life goes to pieces, make a quilt". That one came in 2 parts, so I could choose different colors for each part. They have a bunch of fun sayings and ideas on how to use them.Originally posted by eileenknyWhat is an Uppercase Living party? Is it similar to Pampered Chef?

Hi Darce. - do you think we should hold Upper case parties for Christchurch, it is in all sorts of pieces. I will take that saying to Guild on Saturday, and see how many Quilts we can come up with to send South. My mother has spoken to a cousin of mine in Chch, he said they are OK and the house is structurally sound, but the "inside is munted" - how's that for a Kiwi expression.

I would think it could be a possibility Di. At the very least, ti would be cool to find a way to incorporate the saying into quilts/labels for them. I'd like to hear what your guild thinks.
Ok, I'll bite - what's "munted" mean??

Sorry Darce,
It means absolutely trashed, pantry emptied onto the floor. cabinets, and pictures thrown around the rooms, glass and insides of containers everywhere. Just what you would expect when the earth has taken hold of your house, shaken it all up, thrown it into the air and let it come down free fall. Robert's lucky he can at least live it his home and everything broken and damaged inside and out is fixable. He also now has electricity, some 50,000 homes still don't have water. 80% of Chch now has electricity and they are putting in the old overhead wires into the areas that don't as quickly as they can but access is also difficult because bridges and roads are broken and Christchurch is situated on a river, so there are a lot of bridges.
